Please excuse my ignorance in this area of bots but what is a bot and what is the point of coming to our forum?

I'm not very good at explaining what bots are but... they are basically like digital robots, programmed by someone to do something automatically. As for why they would come to Links Corner, I wonder too, bots can be used for lots of different things, but they probably weren't doing anything nice.

I know nothing about that system but it sounds interesting and I would not be beyond accepting a monetary compensation so to speak for a well done course. Having said that I have always had help in one way or the other with my courses so those involved would need to be compensated also.

I just have a great time making courses. It keep these hands busy.

My only problem now is no matter what I do I can not forest plant on my new comp. :wallbash:

Sage...... :cheers1:
Was kiddn around regards "The designer Fund pool".. caveat your work has now become famous within the Hollywood Elite.. Some very well known celebrities' are aware of the level of detail .. and general quality of the courses on here.. so the future looks bright for any upcoming Links designer.. Mike Jones is a distant relative of Davy Jones of the band "The Monkeys" ...and as far I know Davy Jones regularly played Pro Am's with Jack Nichols himself... Kevin Costner is a fan of some courses on here.. Sean Connery also .. but is unlikely Sean will ever donate.. His Scots ancestry ,, so don't be surprised in the near future if your "Inbox" receives "Commission Requests" for certain American courses ,,
I curse myself for replying to this but Morvio, why do you have to be such a dickhead FFS ?

The struggle of finding a good golf game continues.

- EA PGA TOUR is an absolute miss gameplay wise. The game is very easy, no challenge at all. On top of all gameplay mechanics are very slow.
- PGA TOUR 2K23 - Was using 3-click here, as my gamepad joystick has a solid deadzone in the center by default, so every shot was a perfect contact. Was bored fast. 3-click wasn't bad, but for some reason I stopped playing the game and continued playing LS2003.

- PGA TOUR 2K25 - initially I thought it's great. New 4-click mechanics are great, and on Legendary level, even a slight miss off centre will end in huge push or pull. I ended OOB few times when my focus was not so great, missing nice timed clicks. Still using same joypad, so every shot is a perfect contact. I also played with mouse real time swing for few rounds, and it's quite good, except you can't control the power with the mouse movements like in LS2003, instead you click and hold to add shot power, then do the real time swing movement. For some reason I didn't find my mouse movements consistent, so couldn't play any round below 77-78, missing qualifying to Korn Ferry. So, playing Q-School for the 6th time, as I destroy my chances every single time on one or two holes, doing quadruple bogeys by missing click timings. My focus is not that great, especially after a hard day.
Ah yes, on top of all, devs messed up the AI scoring logic, so scores on first rounds on every tournament are completely predictable. First 10 to 12 players ends either with -2, -1 or E, then next 10-15 players at +1, and so on. Completely boring without any variation that happens in the real world.
I hope they will fix that asap. You must play 4 round tournaments for scores to get more realistic.

- LS2003 - What can I say? Yes, it's old, but I don't have big issue with it. Yes, atmosphere on courses is awful sound wise, many courses have bad background sound loop, or no background audio at all. But if I close one eye on that, and listen only to the crowd applause etc, I can live with it too. So, LS2003 is still far the best customization wise. You can customize AI scores to the bone, to match your preference. But, big BUT, it requires A LOT of testing. I played at least 30-40 rounds only during adjusting AI for Amateur roster. Got over-saturated by LS2003 even before I started the Career. My idea was to start in Amateur, try to win it or end in top 25 (top 10 AI will do scores from E to +3 on average, per round), then to continue to Korn Ferry Tour (Semi-Pro), and so on. Playing 3-click, again, I find it difficult to hit the perfect shot every time. I even tried Elite, and if I miss the 3rd click, even by a margin, ball will go at least 10-20 yards from the fairway, and that is a disaster on tight courses with out of bound areas, or cliffs. I usually play good, being in the top 3 in Amateur, from E to +3 per round, but I always mess up couple of holes doing double or triple bogeys simply by missing 3rd click, ending at +8 or +10 every round. It's frustrating.

All in all, I'm aware that the issues with these games are mostly on my side. And I'm aware that my focus and concentration is the biggest issue. Some rare rounds I play perfectly good, ending at -4 or -5, then immediately raise the AI difficulty level thinking how easy AI was since I was at -4 and 2nd was at E, and then I mess up second round by a mile, doing +10, then going back to option to lower the AI difficulty level, again. Sadly, that can't be done in LS2003 during the tournaments, so if you miss adjusting AI properly for specific tournaments, because you play good on easy courses, you will win that tournament easily, and I will get bored of the game MOMENTARILY. I love constant challenges, as that is what real golf is.

To be honest, from all golf games I enjoy Golf+ in VR the most. I learned to swing good, and most of my balls end withing 10-15 yards when I wanted to, which is the huge success for me. Before, I was doing +15 per round, missing green by 20-30 yards, doing 3 putts per hole, etc. Now, I usually end between -4 and +5, and the game is pure joy. Although I still make the same mistakes like in 2D golf games, but instead missing the 3rd click, I do the bad swing or misjudge the height difference, rough, etc. One bad swing is enough to go OOB. And if that is not enough, I do the same mistake on my repeated swing. I'm stubborn.

Maybe I need to go learn to play real golf, and to touch some grass while doing so? :)

2k25 is absolutely great, near touch perfection ! But it is far away Links which has been created by God himself !!

Actually I play a lot the last 2K but I know it is just by curiosity ´cause my lovin’ goes for LS.

I agree with you . 2K is great but has a lot of defaults, not visibles as first sight, but with a lot of practice it clearly needs improvements ( swing, scoring, player evolution, clubs evolutions, options 1000000 less possibilities than LC.. etc etc )

specifically this "

I think the Virtual Tour add on .. allow you to configure/ or randomise ai difficulty or maybe each round green / and per hole randomness to shake things up.. I could be wrong there
