I have a new beta of Oak Hill East thanks to linkster. I need help with testing as I have not had luck loading Links on my new laptop.
Here is the link:

It will be available for two weeks, please let me know what you find.

Beta testing
Re: Beta testing
Glenn (and Linkster):
I played a round in practice mode, moved the ball around a lot, and am so happy with the changes to the rough. No more spin from shots that land on the green!
I couldn't find any issues, except the "caddy" misclubbed a few times. When adjusting to the right club, no problem. (I don't even know why I use it since I usually ignore it, but just forget to uncheck it when I play.) Just pointed it out if it signals another issue.
Nice job and thanks!

Re: Beta testing
Hi Glenn,
I don't know if this is a bug from the course, I just noticed it.
On the tee shot from the 2nd and 12th, my Ani (also others) had a bad reaction, even though I was on the fairway.
The course plays well, thx for that nice course.

Re: Beta testing
Strange and mysterious, the anis dont seem to like the dark half of the fairway on this course, but they like the bright half of the fairway. Seems to be like that on all holes. But it certainly seems like the dark half plays like fairway in all the correct ways... The only thing I can think of is that perhaps the dark half of the fairway has the texture Category set to "Other" instead of "Fairway"? I know "Other" plays just like Fairway, only it is customizeable to different texture properties through Links Extender or the APCD mod (though I never got it to work with the latter), but I thought anis were fine with landing on the "Other" category - perhaps I remember that incorrectly.
Finished Courses - Main: Amedal (fictional), Nine Bridges (real)
Other: Austin, Sheshan, Kauri Cliffs, Le Golf Nat. Updates: Whirlpool, Royal Lytham, Royal St George's, Chicago, Chambers Bay, Munchen Nord E
Working on: 2 fictional courses + a couple things...

Re: Beta testing
That’s interesting, I’ve finally pissed off an ANI. I’ll look into it.
Thank you
Thank you

Re: Beta testing
I have found through years of playing that anis don't always react accordingly.braden1308 wrote: ↑August 12th, 2024, 5:02 pm That’s interesting, I’ve finally pissed off an ANI. I’ll look into it.
Thank you![]()

No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: Beta testing
I love the clothes!
I was at Oak Hill for the 2003 PGA and got a lot of pictures-it was the pre-APCD era but if you in fact do want to see what I have (for tournament objects, etc.) I'm at your service!
My doctor is a member of a fairly well-known Toronto club (not in our APCD inventory) that has reciprocity with Oak Hill and was invited to be a marshal-he got me in for practise day...it was worth the drive to Rochester!
Just PM me and we'll be in business.
BTW fellow Linksters, if there's a tournament in your area like the Canadian Open (actually the GTA Open-if you live in the GTA between Toronto and Hamilton)-you'll see that Canada's a lot "smaller than what you see on a map
GO ON A PRACTISE DAY!!! The tickets are cheaper, you can get a lot closer to the players and even sit in the "official" on-course stands (they're located in various places all over the course-not just the 18th green). It's a perfect way to do "real" placing of tournament objects. There's always a HUGE crowd milling around the first tee and practise tees (usually very close to the clubhouse) hoping to get autographs-and the players are usually very approachable.
When the tickets go on sale they usually post a ticket website map showing where the tournament objects (like the $tand$
) are too.
You really get a feel for the true atmosphere of the tournament...and double that for a major!
This is one Linkster who's more than willing to wait-and help with tournament-APCD parts.
And remember-the are only a relatively small number of our "Real" courses that will ever actually host a tournament anyway.
