Your mention of Olympic and Harding Park leaves out San Francisco in that city. Unlike the 2 other courses it has not hosted a major, but it in comparison to TPC Harding Park is rated as top 35 course in US per Golf Digest's ranking whereas TPC Harding Park's credentials is that is a revamped public course and tv commentators always play that aspect up when a tournament is played there. Other public courses are Bethpage, Pinehurst, Torrey Pines and Pebble Beach to name just a few are more likely to have major tournaments be played again on them than TPC Harding Park would be. https://www.golfdigest.com/story/san-fr ... -golf-club.
Riviera by Chuck Clark listed as being done 2006 in Links has had no significant changes in course and that version is pretty well done, although having real green contours would always be a plus for any real course to play here in Links. In Los Angeles there is a course that rates slightly higher per Golf Digest's ranking than Riviera and will host the US Open in 2023, most recently having hosted The Walker Cup that deserves consideration to be done here in Links. https://www.golfdigest.com/story/los-an ... club-north.

You do realize that TPC Harding Park JUST had a tremendous PGA Championship last month right? received rave reviews, HP is a fantastic course, I was lucky enough to had a full photoshoot there while at the US Open 2012, its great. The greens are a little boring, not alot of elevation, but its still a great place - the approaches into the greens are so beautiful with the tall Monterrey Cypress trees, which I'm creating a batch of.

The PGA Tour is ready announce a regular stop on tour starting possibly next year with Stephen Curry as the host, so finishing it off is a must for me. SFGC is great, and very private course with fantastic bunkering, but I have too many already, I did pass up the opportunity to see SFGC while I was there, a mistake I'll always regret.

Our version of Riviera is old and once you've been there, you'd realize it's not accurate. Was there all week on assignment in 2016 for PGA tourney, and the place is amazing as well.

Also, been to Los Angeles CC North, yes, very lucky here, amazing place, probably my favorite course of all-time. lots of pics And I have the Strackaline book for LACC North too

check Google Earth for a way better shot, that design is old. Mackenzie & Ebert changed it considerably just a year or 2 ago, adding back in many bunkers and an almost 'Pine Valley' look. Here are a couple looks

Hi everyone, been busy with life the last month or so! Not much time at all online and almost no time in Links or APCD! I did fiddle with Abu Dhabi, Sheshan and Hamilton a few weeks ago. So there"s still pokers in the fire, but I will have a lot less time as I'm back at work teaching Grade 7 and 8 at school with real kids sitting in the desks! I think Abu Dhabi and Hamilton are close to release, just need to take some hours with each on a weekend and see where they wind up.

How's the virus affecting your teaching job? It just occurred to me that Grade 7 and 8 would be a perfect time to introduce the youngsters to the joys of APCD...just think-a whole new generation of Sages at your fingertips...
