Ugh. One thing after another.
I'm on Windows 10. I ran Library Merge Tool as Administrator, located and loaded the object.lib file and clicked Merge. It started then abruptly quit. Tried it with both my 2001 APCD disk and Championship Edition disk with the same result. Tried running not as Administrator with same result. I don't need the 2001 objects but I would like to have them. I feel like a total noob.
Any advice?

Only advice I can offer is, Lez Marwick and others warn us not to use 2D objects from the 2001 planting set because some of them are corrupt. The 3D objects are ok, but don't plant any 2D objects. I cannot verify if that is factual. I'm just passing on what I have heard.
Dan
PS: Get with Adelade. He might be able to pass on to you an APCD with a full 2001/2003 planting set included.

Well, I guess it's a good thing the Merge didn't work!
Yoohoo...Adelade?
Don't think it was your fault. Adelade had pretty much the same issue when he tried to do the Library Merge.

Yea probably is same issue I had, could not get LibraryMerge to work no matter what I tried. Dan helped me out a while back by sending me a stock APCD that had already been merged and therefore contains both 2001 and 2003 objects. Uploading it at the moment hold on a bit... my upload speed isnt the best... I think I could have just uploaded the object.lib and Object folder but I did the whole APCD to be safe. Do keep in mind it seems like I didnt save any copy that was 100% as Dan gave it to me, it seems to contain some slight customization from me, I spot my most important hotkey shortcuts and a custom plant set for example, not sure if anything else might be different but it should be very minor things, you might want to change some "Preferences" for example, and you could always replace the shortcut.txt with your own.
Indeed be careful about the stock 2001 2d objects, I think Lez said that some of them cause APCD instability if planted, Im no expert on how to distinguish them, the 3D ones are obvious which are from 2001 or not from the folder names and the 2D folders seem differently named too, you could compare with the folders of a stock 2003 library to see which they are. Anytime I personally want to use any stock 2003 2D object I have always planted them on a placeholder .crz and extracted them in Links Extender to get the .tga file so it can be edited and turned into a new .btx file, I assume it should be safe to use even the 2001 2D objects if doing it that way but I haven't tried so far.

The 2001 3D library is indeed pretty useful and more varied than the 2003 one.
