The Saint Andrews Golf Club

Post by Adelade »

The course is nice but the extrusions between grass textures unfortunately ruin the course for me, I want to take this opportunity to campaign again them  I know opinions on this probably differ from person to person, but to me personally it is both visually unappealing and also frustrates me on those rare times that it impacts gameplay - like this shot (I'll show a screenshot too for those who dont want to bother loading the shot)

The result wasnt bad at all in this case because of the greenslopes funneling the ball back, but it is still ridiculous and breaks immersion, and I have once gotten a similar side-bounce on a grass extrusion into a bunker on another course, in tournament play...

I plan on toning down those extrutions...........
Thanks Adelade.......
An errant bounce once in a while is a real thing. Here is why I made the edges like I did. As I said I will tone them down a bit.

Wow. Could not have been two days ago I was playing a course, can't remember which, when the ball landed near the green and bounced in the weirdest way I'd ever seen. I almost saved the shot, but figured it must have just been an aberration. Yeah...kinda like real golf....lol... :surrender:

By the way if I did not mention it already, Ron Weel did the inner course planting and I think he did a fabulous job..... :clapping:

Trees difficult to get out of possibly lessen contact slightly

Pete, take it from another Pete, there are W-a-a-a-y too many players that don't need the course made easier so they can play it. Aim where you're not up against an object, use a LW with full loft and hit it OVER the trees/brush. You're the one that got you into trouble - just accept your penalty.
