Another quick thing to test that might be worth trying - launching the game from LinksLauncher instead of LinksMMIII.

This is from your new Win 11 system, right?

i have tried both to launch from and have the same problem. yes it is 11

On both my Win10 and Win11 machines I run Links with the compatibility mode unchecked.
Might be worth a try.

Got to the Links Splash screen with the voodoo wrapper logo at the bottom then it freezes. A little more progress, thanks Ian

I never could get voodoo to work smoothly with Links. Voodoo works like magic for other older games but not with me and Links. I vaguely remember installing DirectX 9 or activating it under Add Features to get Links to work on my Win 10 desktop.

I used voodoo without any problems on my old computer, but now I can't get links running on my new Win 11 laptop. I may start from scratch over the weekend if I get a chance. I'm just happy the APCD is running

This may be what linkster was referring to as it sometimes is a fix when Links just hangs while loading:

The forum post references Windows 10. I'm guessing there is a similar area in Windows 11 to enable legacy components. It's been a while since I loaded Links on this PC (Windows 10), but I just checked and I had to enable legacy components on it to get Links to run.
