Hey Kiwi..... heres links to the first 2 screenies ya posted.....theses 2 earlier screenies posted earlier in the thread .... 1 https://ibb.co/KwYVr0j that screenie clearly shows you HAD at that point the game at least INSTALLED correctly...as in you had at that point ALL the necessary entries under DISAPLY in the reg//// and 2nd screenie you post
2 https://ibb.co/0QztqTD was a screenie of the performance folder within the registry ...that screenie that listed your 3060...the fact that there WAS a folder named PERFORMANCE in the registry is another clear indication that at the point you posted those screenies the game at THAT POINT was installed correctly....you just made the silly mistake at THAT POINT..of not changing the display mode from 1 TO 14...UNFORTUNATLEY....talkin about the point at which Links loaded but was the wrong size....since then bro...dont know how you arrived at a point where the registry doesnt even show the PERFORMANCE FOLDER in the reg...ps compare those two older screenies to the most receent ones of your registry ya posted bro....but reckon ...weve done are darnest to help you...best of luck with it though

1: Did you apply the patches from the Links main directory? Drag them there before running them.
2: I recommend trying just 1.07 + Nvidia patch + Win 7 compatibility mode. I know this has been suggested before, but I think when you tried that back then, you were on the CD install?
3:Otherwise, go back to whatever you did to get the game running when you posted that it loaded, and showed the screenshot of the game displaying weirdly (it was never clear to me what you did differently that time, but I assumed you had been on the CD install before that, and the change was because you changed to the download install?). Then from that point, try the DPI thing I suggested to you in the PM. If that doesnt work, also do the registry edit for mode 14, depth 1 and Windowed both 0 and 1.
1: Yes
2: No, I have the cd, but I have been using my d/load link at links country club
3: I'll try a fresh install
1st - Links2K3_Down backup.exe - offers you a directory: /Program Files (x86)/Links 2003/ I advise using this: /Links 2003/ it removes some of Windows control over Links - permissions and such.
2nd - Links2K3_Players.exe - Put it in the above folder and double-click to run it.
3rd - Links2k3_107_Final.exe - Put it in the above folder and double-click to run it.
4th - Links2k3_nvidia_win7_FINAL.exe - Put it in the above folder and double-click to run it.
Right-click on the Links desktop icon.
in the "Compatibility" Tab, select "Run this program in compatibility mode for" "Windows 7"
Click the checkbox for "Run this program as an Administrator"
Try to run Links2003. If unsuccessful, find the instructions at this web site for using Vu-Du (for reasons I can't explain here, each "u" should be "oo").
You may need something called "Direct Play" - I think version #9. Important! Please post how this went.

So I'm assuming the above hd/widescreen d/load at links countryclub is not upto date?
Why are you assuming anything? Mode 14 (registry) is "1920 x 1080" (a valid value)
Why as I want to show what is or isnt working and weather that update at links country club is correct or upto date, plus my registry is showing two files, and not 4-6 files like what morvio100 posted here
"I've started back with a fresh install,.....if youve still got only 2 entries under display....and a partial Links dir ....as your screenie shows....it's NOT a FRESH INSTALL...likehood is you havem't uninstalled the game correctly...the more I read through this thread...the more it looks like a WIND UP.....reckon your wasting peoples time...

Props for admitting that your only given source before this thread is an assumption instead of a conclusion though.
I did not say that. There were 3-4 other threads. I don't think you were monitoring as you were not intending to switch to Win 11, I was.
I don't know why Kiwi's game isn't launching. I do know the graphics issues I was having were because of the new drivers. The new patch fixes this problem in the new drivers along with whatever other fixes it contains. These old fixes don't fix the current drivers and you can't use old drivers with Win 11 and the new cards so it won't work.

I monitor all threads about Win 11 with great interest. Contrary to what you believe about me, I dont believe it is impossible that Win 11 could turn out to be highly problematic with Links in a lot of ways, but unlike you, Im seeing that lots of people can run the game with Win 11, including one person with a i7-12700K, and unlike you, Im waiting for any convincing cases of people who cannot run the game with Win 11 before I get worried. So far there are none, only people who dont give us information or dont seem to try what we suggest, and as I've pointed out before, we have had a lot of people like that with any OS before Win 11, that never meant that Links cant be run with those OSs.
