Keyboard causing Links to crash
Keyboard causing Links to crash

I recently bought this keyboard as a Black Friday deal. However when I try to play Links, it either crashes or won't start at all.
Is anyone using this keyboard with Links and if so, did you have to do anything to get it working?
I'm running Links on Windows 10 without any problems except for the keyboard issue.

Can you sometimes get to the menu screen in Links with this keyboard?

Not at all. It works fine with my standard Microsoft keyboard.Still Linksing wrote: ↑December 14th, 2019, 8:33 pm Can you sometimes get to the menu screen in Links with this keyboard?

If the game does not launch at all on any attempt and you can never make it to the main menu, it likely will be for this reason:Spelunker wrote: ↑December 14th, 2019, 10:49 pmNot at all. There is no fix other than removing the problem device.
You could try different versions of the keyboard software but I really don't think this will help. From what you have said, it all works again when you physically remove the new keyboard from the PC. This indicates it likely isn't a software issue but you could try different software versions to be certain.
You could also try different compatibility modes and running as admin. Again, I wouldn't expect this to help.

May not be a particularly good solution even if it works, but is it possible to launch the game with the device unplugged and then connect the device once the game has already launched? Idk just a thought.

Re: Keyboard causing Links to crash
Having read this, I was wondering if there were any advantages to playing with a Keyboard, since I have always used a Mouse.
I always wanted to write something intelligent in my signature. Now that I think about it, I guess I just did!

Go to help-hot keys and it shows all the keyboard commands.

Actually, the swing meter for a keyboard is the ZERO key on the NUMS pad...Still Linksing wrote: ↑December 15th, 2019, 4:31 pmI think spacebar does the swing meter. Yes, so it is ZERO. I had to go check after your post because I knew it was spacebar in one golf game. Spacebar it is in Golden Bear Challenge.
