I am a little late to the game, but I have been designing courses in PG using Course Forge and Unity... have a few released courses, both fantasy and real. A few of the developers are from Access Software.. which is why it is similar to Links!

This game does not require a monster PC to play, so it seems to me that something might be running in the background ie. Virus checker or some other software. Does it happen every time you swing?

When you add all the courses from the new drive into Links via Course Manager is that creating a reference to that new location? Just move all your .CRZ files to wherever you want them using File Explorer. Then in Links / Options/ Course Manager all your courses should have disappeared so select add and navigate to the drive and folder where you moved them to, click 'Select All' then 'Add' but make sure you then select 'No' ...
