Still bringing Colonial CC up to date. Working hard to get it out in time for the Charles Schwab Tournament coming up June 8-14. The last edition released was 2007. This update will include a sponsor change. As such I am creating some new tee markers.
I've never made custom tees before, so I set out to find an easy way to do it. Here's a pretty simple method I came up with. Perhaps it may give others some ideas. Thanks to Dorse for providing me with Charles Schwab Logo.
What does everyone think? Do these look ok?
Here's the method I used...
I went off plot and created some oblong faces, created a square face at each end, and then I extruded both ends and pulled them upwards to look like 2 posts. I colored them yellow and sharpened all the edges, and took one of them up to the first tee for some measurements, which I will use to adjust the rest of them as I make them.
Making them in doubles and connected together, requires less handling and tweaking. They will only be placed at the 2 back tee boxes on each hole. Instead of making 72 individual posts, I will make 36 doubles.
After I applied the logo and created the planar and sized it, I tilted the top of the post back toward the golfer. Finally I pulled the posts down into the ground to hide the connecting face between them.
Here's a few screenshots.
This is what I made off plot and brought up for measurements...
Here I had made the adjustments. I tilted the top, applied the logo, set the planar size, and then pulled it underground...
Next I spread it out to 12 feet, which is the distance the default round tee markers are apart...
Finally, this is what it looked like in the game...
Big thanks to Eric Dorsey "dorse" for bringing this classic back to us for an update after all these years!

Another thanks to Adelade for choosing the pin locations. He was able to find the placements that were used in the 2018 tournament. Might be fun to set them the same during the upcoming tourney.
NOTE: This being the first pro tourney since the C-19 shutdown, they will not be allowing any spectators. So be sure and turn off the CROWDS before you start. I will NOT be separating the spectators 6 feet apart during this update.
