Gentlemen,
I have just asked Andy to add the beta version of Kingsley Club to the course database. Thank you Andy.

Kingsley Club was designed by Mike DeVries and opened in 2001. The course is located south of Traverse City, Michigan, United States of America. The course is a private course with a par of 71 with the gold tees stretching 6929 yards.

Please add any comments or faults that you may find to this post.

(It is my opinion that the course is better played with normal or difficult pin locations.)

Ian Wells

I've played a few rounds, looks quite good, nothing is jumping out at me.

The course has an interesting feel about it, I cannot put my finger on it.

I've played on three configurations, Windows + Nvidia, Windows + Intel + Wrapper, Linux + Intel + Wine, all without any problem.

I've noticed that the shadow file takes a while to build and is quite large.

Des,
I forgot to mention that the shadow file takes 4-5 minutes to generate.
I left some wooded areas in so as to maintain a square plot, which isn't necessary, but the shadow file is only generated once.
The course has an interesting feel about it,
That comment put a smile on my face, thank you.

Hi,

had some practice Rounds.

On Hole 8 in the Background right or better on Hole 9 in Background left there is a single Tree with a very thin trunk.
I think the tree is maybe a little bit to big and looks like he is flying because of the thin trunk.
Perhaps using another Tree there.

The Shadow file took very long.

No other issues. Many thanks for the invested time.

The time needed to generate the shadow file is excessive for me.

How many 2d objects are planted on the course? Rule of thumb I use is to keep it at 1 or 2 million max.

Do the grasses have a top view? This is likely the issue. The trick to getting rid of top views is to add a new grass to the object type and then with the top view empty, click the apply to all objects of this type. If your grasses are a separate type then this fix will work. You will have to select all of each grass and then click the update current selected images.

Great job on the planting with all the custom trees, bushes, and grasses. This course is a keeper on my computer.

Barry
Thank you.

Derek
Thank you.
I (now) see the tree and I will adjust that for the final release. Well spotted.

How many 2d objects are planted on the course?
7.7 million :ill: :scared:
The vast majority of those are grasses and they do not have shadows, but I don't see a problem because as Barry said " its a 0ne time deal to download" and it's only 5 minutes. I will pluck out some of the trees where it will won't be noticed.
I'm happy it's a keeper for you.
Once more a big thank you for all your work in order to give me the course download and the green details. :tiphat:

Ian,

Although the time taken to generate the shadow file must be some sort of record :bookh: ,it is as you say, a one off occurrence.

Might I suggest that when you upload the final, you preface the course notes with a warning about this issue?

I've played a few rounds on the final version, no problems here.
