I've seen multiple references to different versions of the wrapper, but I don't recall seeing a link posted on where to get/download those different versions. If there is a better place or if this has been posted before I apologize in advance for the repeat.

I've seen statements saying that the name of the wrapper should not be mentioned, as such I have avoided it and providing any pointers, but the name is clearly present in the screen shots a couple of posts back, plugging that into a search engine will give you the site pointer.

FWIW I periodically evaluate later versions of this wrapper software as well as other wrapper solutions.
The version pointed to here is 2.7, it is known to work well (version 2.55 also works and I think can be a bit quicker)
I have tested version 2.83.x and have just tested the latest 2.84.1
Neither version resolves the lack of translucent golfer shadows, so no improvement there.
Both versions however are showing issues with reflective water, in come cases with water being shown as solid light blue.
I could not recommend using any of these later versions with Links.

The wrapper author has responded that he cannot see the reflective water issue with the Links demo. That is what he has access to.
I have tried the back 9 at Skeleton coast and do not see it either, but again I do not look at the old Links courses much at all.

Hi everyone, I used to play links 2003 religiously until about 15 years ago when worked ramped up and I just quit playing. Man, I missed this game. I just download Perfect Golf (I know I'm way late to the party)and that game has the realism that I love vs TW style golf. The only complaint is that the career mode that allows me to set up my own tourneys offline was addicting and made the game extremely fun. That is what brought me back to Links 2003.
Plus, this is a great community
Question:
I have an Intel Core Laptop Computer with a GeForce graphics card (3050 I think). I followed all of the instructions and downloads for the NVIDEA fix along with AndyHope link + his instructions. It still does not work for me. The Links screen does not recognize my graphics card or the Voodoo fix. It only recognizes my Intel UHD Graphics card. Is this game likely not going to be playable on my pc?

Difficult to answer that question without being given more info, but in general I think it is very unlikely for the game to not be playable on your pc.baballard73 wrote: ↑February 24th, 2025, 1:13 pmQuestion:

What in particular suggests that the Links screen does not recognize your graphics card or the wrapper? Is it for example the 3D accelaration text at the bottom when Links first loads? Or something else? It has been a while since I used the wrapper, but I suspect you might not have set the wrapper up correctly. Which DLL files did you paste over, and did you put them in the correct folder (the same place as LinksMMIII.exe), and did you configure the wrapper with the Control Panel (CPL) executable?
Are you encountering any issues with Links other than it not using the correct graphics card?

Re: Links 2003 w/ Intel-Only Graphics or Intel + Nvidia Graphics - Solution Found
I am running Links on an Intel 13th system with embedded Intel UHD graphics and a 11th Gen i5 systems with Iris Xe graphics both are using the wrapper and both are working well. This is under Windows 11.
So I also think it unlikely that Links would be unplayable on your system.
As has been said we need more information.

Thanks for the information above! This helped me figure out the small detail that I was missing in terms of file location. I just made the update and Links is running great now. I am pumped to set up another career mode and play set up tourneys like I did many moons ago.
Like I said, this game may have a few flaws and is dated vs the others but it just feels so much more like pure golf vs the other options. The user courses are great as well and still look great in my eyes.
Thanks again and Happy golfing everyone!

Re: Links 2003 w/ Intel-Only Graphics or Intel + Nvidia Graphics - Solution Found
Links always tended to favour being more of a golf sim rather than a golf game, within the limitations of the available hardware. The improved dynamics introduced in 1.06 (and hence in 1.07) only added to that.
I suppose, in a way, Links favours those that play the game IRL and extends it to computer golf.
As did adding PowerStroke, although I do not think they got that quite right and the RTS swing type.
