I have downloaded and played a few rounds of Royal Sydney Golf Club. It is a great design of a stunning golf course. Good to see a course design with crowds and tournament objects. They will enhance my links golf tournament experience. Thanks.

The more I play this course the better it gets, the planting is spot on, the look is great as is the attention to detail.

Royal Sydney Golf Club 2nd round today on LInks - I realized post round looking on Google....I was there in person...

It's a course I walked up to alongside. A prestigious course........so much so they wouldn't even let me in, just a buzzer at the door. I was taking a Sydney harbour ferry back from Hornby Lighthouse out on the point.... decided to stop and to walk up to the club. It was a little irritating at the time but I wasn't expecting much and visited a little tennis club anyway on route. The name and experience had since slipped my mind until yesterday

The release for Links just came out a couple weeks back. I saw it was an Australian course......It didn't click until today 2 rounds later just what one it was.

The Golf Gods in retrospect here today not only making the "Links" for me inside ......but getting me "on the course proper" at my leisure 6 years later now for a little look around......that's poetic justice.

Rounds of 63 a couple weeks ago, and 69 for today..... that ought to keep the membership murmuring for some time ⌚ to come. 🙂

I also have two Australian born granddaughters since this time in 2019.....up in the Sunshine Coast.

Thanks a Lot Colin.....I really like the course from Links player and heritage irl perspectives.....but the serendipity of having been there and now the granddaughters down under..... makes it all extra special today.

Richard

I played a 3rd round (elite classic) today alongside recorded 1st round of 63.....I never usually do that but will even do it again tomorrow morning for round 4 tomorrow (a threesome at same pins settings). What fun!

Thanks Richard and welcome to LC.

RS membership is an initial fee of $30,000 then another of $7,000 per year, so they guard their course zealousy. Getting the planting right was an issue for me, as there aren't enough photos/videos of the course out there (because of the exclusive "no-photos" rule I am sure). It seems this socially-exclusive conservativism has always been a part of its history too - quite unbelievably, their rules banned Jewish membership until the early 1970s.

You can enjoy playing it for free whenever you want in Links tho!

Picked this beauty for my first round of links in quite a long time. Absolute masterpiece Colin. Great combination of textures and colours, particularly liked the deep rough texture and long grass planting which has a gorgeous natural look to it. Clubhouse is stunning, I can only guess how many hours went into it alone. Top job mate !!
