Turnberry The Ailsa Course
I have been enjoying a few rounds of The Ailsa Course at Turnberry by Stewart Parker. Although it is a great design of a spectacular course, I have a few queries about the fairway visibility. On most championship links courses the fairway and the fairway bunkers are usually visible from the tee. The height of the rough grass between tee and fairway is obscuring the fairway visibility on holes 2,5,8,9,11,13,16,18.

Re: Turnberry The Ailsa Course
There is no rule of golf that says the fairways and fairway bunkers must be visible from the tee, or that the height of the rough grass between tee and fairway can not obscure the fairway visibility. The game is more than 400 years old, and unlike football, baseball and basketball, isn't played on a regulation, predefined stadium or court. If you can't see the fairway on a par 4 or 5, there is actually a name for it - "blind tee shot". If there is anything else about the game that you would like to know, you are in the right place to ask questions. So ask away!
