Sage, my email service gave me an unusual error and said the message was not delivered, but it shows up in my "sent" folder so I assume you got it? Let me know if not.

On the version in Sage's first post, my scorecard within Links is showing 7851 yards from the back tees and when I open it in APCD, I’m looking at 7832 yards which would be consistent with what Adelade observed. Sage did previously state "this course is NOT up to date per the new course layout and I am not going to update", I think this discrepancy in overall course length may have been what he was referring to in that quote.

Pete,

Maybe I'm misinterpreting what you are saying in your two posts. Your "it's a lot more completed than I expected" and "looks like the course already has 1024 textures" statements gives me the impression you think the alpha version in Sage's first post is the same John Pineda version from 2003/2004 that Dorse sent Sage.

I don't remember exactly when v1.07 was released, but the first course with 1024 textures wasn't released here until 11/2005. That would mean that any 1024 textures we are seeing have likely been added by Sage. I'm thinking the version we are seeing in this thread has already had some APCD changes done by Sage and he was just looking for specific input along the way. Maybe that is what you meant.

Maybe Sage will comment on the length issue and whether or not the version he posted for comment is the original or if he has already made some changes.

Sage posted: I am making Old Head available for open testing and review to anyone interested...... I want to make CLEAR.......

"to clarify again, I DID NOT do Old Head, nor did I touch it. John Pineda designed that WAY back in the day, about 2003 or 2004, gave it to me as he was burnt out on APCD. I never got around to touching it as it was a big job with the cliffs etc. no topo info to work off of either at the time. John was a great guy but many emails from me went unanswered, so I finally let it go."

I posted: "I don't know who made that statement inside the quote marks - you or Dorse72". That was because I DIDN'T KNOW! :dunno:

Plus I commented on how good the course looked because I had seen a version that didn't have the gorse bushes or the long grass mixed in the rough, and I liked the textures being used.
I said: "it's a lot more completed than I expected". [[ Why am I clarifying this to you?]] :dunno:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Then you said:
"I say keep up the good work bringing the textures on this course up to current Links standards along with whatever other APCD modifications you have already accomplished or are planning."

I read that and asked Sage for clarification:
"It looks like the course already has 1024 textures - fairways, tees and greens - right?" That was because I DIDN'T KNOW! :dunno:

Then you wrote:

And leave me out of the length issue. I didn't comment on it!
Maybe Sage will comment on the length issue and whether or not the version he posted for comment is the original or if he has already made some changes.

Pete, this post by you in an earlier 'Course Corner' thread (https://linkscorner.org/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=332):
pmgolf wrote: March 30th, 2020, 1:15 pm Yes, Sage. I would like to see a version in its current state. I am also using it to help me learn the APCD. if I can learn how to use all the tools, I would like to modify it to more closely approximate the course as it is now, but that's just a dream right now. I hope that's not a problem with you.

Is only two posts below this post (meaning there is only one post in between):

Was directed to you (with the exception of my last sentence, which was a summary of my post and a request for comment by Sage) to illicit your comments, not an attack. I said, "Maybe I'm misinterpreting what you are saying in your two posts." Apparently I was, my mistake. :tiphat:

I never indicated you said anything about the length question.
