and another 83 here. I withdraw.
A few greens on the back nine went past what is reasonable in my opinion. I felt the 11th was close to unplayable where I scored a 13!
The 13th and 14th were also quite questionable.
The rest of the course was reasonable but difficult
I'll join you in the bar Ian.

As the bar fills with those of us who have been victims of this course, perhaps we should toast SCG and Jim Evers for their excellent performances.

I made a playable DEM version of Aronimink. Check it out here to see what the course looks like in person.

FWIW I completed a round on Linkster's Dem version using challenging settings. I know I had it set to fast but do not recall if it was soft or medium hardness. It was a quick round so did not spend a lot of time pondering putts etc.
It is still a fairly stern test, but I felt the greens were somewhat more receptive to a good shot, and there was none of the more outrageous rolls we have seen. Alas with most textures being set as fairway not really suitable to use for anything other than a feel of the course and its nuances. It does give a good guide to the greens as they are more of a finished product.
Thomas I suspect you found the same holes I had trouble with, you though played them much better than I did, congratulations. I did get very hot under the collar! Lucky there was no one around to hear me!

In setting these pins, it seemed to me that they were very close to what we saw in the first round.

Re: Links PGA Tour 2026 - PGA Championship
Got my 3rd round in after attending a wedding, watched a little bit of the coverage while at the reception without sound so hard to glean helpful details but after playing this course 4 times including a practice round, I don't know how anyone can putt these greens on the challenging setting. I play the M/F without challenging as the first few events I played in were disasters with those conditions. I also did not check how the final scores were here or on the TV as the last few groups were on the back nine when I turned the coverage off.
3rd round got off to frustrating start with a 3 putt bogey to start, missed the green right at #3 for another bogey (at this point I was kicking myself for playing the round tonight and not just play 36 tomorrow) birdie from 24 feet at #4, missed the next 3 greens but was able to save par, 3.4 ft birdie on #8, missed a makeable 9 ft birdie putt at #9 to go out in 35, back nine started with birdies of 12 and 36 ft at #10 and #11, went over the green at #12 and made bogey, approach shot magic led to birdies at #13 and #14 3.5 and 5.8 ft, parred in despite missing all 4 greens to come back in in 32 shots for a 35-32=67 3 under par and 6 under par for the tourney!!! 9 fairways, 10 greens, 25 putts, amazing round and tournament for me so far.
Hoping for a good final round tomorrow!
