I'm wondering if it is more the speed of the newer hardware.

I think so too.

Maybe I'll clone my Windows 10 SSD and give Windows 11 a try.

Although, installing with Rufus might cause problems with the annual Windows update.

I think with the same hardware, the speed should be similar.

Rufus just built my bootable thumb drive that I had the W-11 .iso on. There is a youtube.com video about doing it. -I found it!-

While I use RTS (and did consider PS, the click of the wrist snap I do not like as you cannot control that movement consciously in real life, otherwise it seems quite realistic) the only problem I have really had hardware wise (if you discount the Intel GPU) is with mice.

I have found different mice have different levels of sensitivity, some of it seems to be related to the age of the mouse, older mice for example require more mouse movement for RTS, but even mice of very similar age can be quite different.
