"Mean 18" that brings back memories, it wasn't quite in the same category as Links :) Very different times.

I really only came back to Links in the last 12 months, after getting Links running on Windows 11 and Linux, the old XP box I had under the desk was mostly too much of a nuisance. So I have a heap of catching up to do.

I play real golf left handed but on the computer use the mouse in the right hand.

The stroke was why I though RTS might be worth a try, mouse clicks are not significant, so it is not about timing, it is more about wrist or arm movement. Depending on what O/S I am on and what mouse I am using determines if I use wrist or arm movement. I tried every mouse I had one some systems to try to find one that "worked" for me. It has taken me quite some time to work out the best way to use the different mice on the various systems (the same mouse on Windows and Linux even works differently) but perseverance has paid off, and now after a few practice holes on a machine I can play Links on it, with the mouse I intended to use with the system, with only the occasional wild shot.

With swing types, in any case, you have the choice with Links. I did try Powerstroke again recently, but its wrist snap mouse click I cannot get past.

For sure! There was no "golfer". The ball was just a big white pixel. And the courses were completely flat. But it seemed a step up from Frogger and Loderunner :D

I'm the opposite, play right-handed for real, but left-handed mouse on a PC (yet still right-handed on-screen). I think I'm called "multi-dextrous"; I throw, swing a tennis racket, and kick a ball left-handed, but golf, hockey, baseball bat all right-handed. I read recently that may explain a stutter for 2-3 years when I was 10-12 yo; the brain gets all messed up trying to figure out what the hell's going on! I notice a lot of hockey players who are left-handed shots, play golf right-handed, so it's a puzzle.

I'm the opposite. I play two handed games left handed but everything else, like writing, throwing a ball, playing table tennis I do right handed, it is only when the two hands are together do I do it left handed.

I suffered a hemorrhagic stroke in 2011 and underwent brain surgery and luckily had little physical side effects, just some cognitive impairments, like decision making, time management and temperment issues. I play games right handed and eat and write with my left hand, I can also use the left hand to hammer nails and turn screws. The surgeon and neurologists I've seen said that being ambidextrous is why the stroke did not affect me as bad physical because my brain isn't wired correctly.
