That is not a million miles away from my Windows notebook.

Mine is an 11th gen i5, 1 TB SDD, 16GB memory and Iris Xe graphics with a 1920 x 1080 display, it is an Asus notebook.

With dgVoodoo 2.7 or 2.55 is runs Links pretty well.

Glenn,

This is my Asus Notebook, on these specs it looks pretty similar to yours, mine has a 1920 x 1080 screen. Links runs pretty well on this system. As I also use this machine for testing I have tried many versions of dgVoodoo on it from version 2.55.4 through to 2.81.3. The versions of dgVoodoo I have tried between these two have worked.

I tend to be rather stubborn and jump through hoops to try and get systems working, I worked with server level computer systems before retirement :)

My goal last year was to retire a couple of old Dell systems, one of which was running Windows XP and Links, it was not being used too much as it was something of a nuisance, hence I wanted to run Links on Windows 11, with a side project to see if it would run on Linux, which would be a bonus.

I've been trying various combinations of dgVoodoo settings, alas the course continues to crash to a black screen with a border on the back nine.

FWIW this course is crashing for me anywhere from the 12th hole onwards on a system with the combination of Windows 11/embedded Intel GPU/dgVoodoo, last crash was when it should have been rendering the 12th green, before that it was around the 14th hole.

I have been trying various combinations of options at the dgVoodoo and Links levels but with no luck.

It is not possible to resume the round it just crashes again to a black boarded window, I run Links full screen.

I have not had it crash on a system with the combination of Linux/Embedded Intel GPU/Wine.

It seems it is something about the combo, I do not have the hardware to try anything different with Windows 11. Windows/Nvidia/dgVoodoo would be interesting to try, if it still crashed it suggest dgVoodoo is possibly the factor if it doesn't then perhaps the Intel GPU.

Des,
I let the All-in-one computer play the course using pin 3(4) and he completed the course.

I posted in the tech forum the courses I have been having problems with so far and where it is occurring, I'm looking for anyone using an Intel GPU and the wrapper who is not having problems with said courses to post their Intel GPU chipset type and driver version. I'm hoping different driver version(s) may provide the solution, I have run out of things to try in the wrapper and Links to change the behaviour.
