Thanks Daniel, will try 24H2 when it comes available for my rig. Even tried "Get the latest updates as soon as they become available" and it still didn't offer 24H2. Oh, also tried old monitor and no love there either.

I waited quite a while before I got the update from Microsoft. If things do not work out with the update you can roll it back, but sooner or later you will have to install it. BTW have you looked into your Bios to see if you can disable the onboard graphics from there.

Microsoft will not offer the 24H2 update to a machine that has hardware with a known unresolved issue.

The insert CD is a known problem with the CD kit and is resolved in the 1.07 update. The CD issue is cause by the copy protection scheme used in Links which is not longer supported by Microsoft and thus causes problems on Windows 11 and 10 at the very least.

1.07 includes 1.02, 1.05, the mod (1.06) and the CD patch file, as well as supporting HD textures (2003T courses) and providing other fixes.

The Nvidia patch fixes an Nvidia crash as well as general crashes caused by reflective water.

The stated purpose of the wrapper is to support games that use older DirectX versions on newer versions of Windows by providing replacement DLLs which are put in the games program folder. So it can be of help no matter what GPU you have, so should not be automatically discounted, it should be considered another tool that can provide a solution.

The installation of 1.07 and Nvidia patches should be considered mandatory and installed as a matter of course.

I am curious why GoBucks said:

Maybe you are right, I dont know, but I dont see any reason to exclude the possibility of it being helpful when the CPU has onboard graphics so I am curious what makes you think this?
The reason I said it is because on pc's with a dedicated video card AND integrated graphics, there are separate video outputs. It sounds like he is using his graphic card, especially when seeing the resolution he mentioned.

From all that I've read, the wrapper is a remedy for integrated video.

GoBucks, my monitor’s resolution is 3840 x 2160. However, I tried numerous display resolutions trying to get L2K3 to work without success.
That may be your issue. The Max resolution that the game supports is 1920x1080 32bit, Just a hunch.

The maximum resolution supported is 1920 x 1200 which is mode 15 in the Links registry settings. This is a 16:10 aspect ratio and is a less commonly seen resolution.

1920 x 1080 is a very common resolution, that is 1080p a 16:9 aspect ratio.

I think you will need to select in Links a resolution with an aspect ratio that matches the aspect ratio of your screen.
