Not another new course...!!!!!!!!!

I'm working on a 36 hole course complex. It's got 140+ bunkers. 1/2 of which are complicated convoluted shapes. Having a lot fun with this one. I hope I can do it justice. It's very near my home town.

First of all, you're a lunatic....
Second, I really like those bunkers. Very Robert Trent Jones, reminds me a lot of his original Cambrian Ridge bunkers
And third, are we talking about your original hometown, your current hometown, or the hometown when you lived in New Jersey ???


Edit: And finally fourth, Bakes Flat has 173 individual bunkers ( 18 holes ), so chew on that you lunatic. ( admittedly most are simple shapes.. )

I assume that is one of Linkster's DEMs? How is your PC handling the plot?

Do you hope to do all 36 holes on one plot or can/are you going to break it up into 2 plots?

A Linkster DEM, yes...................PC is doing ok..................
I'm treating it as one course. I'm going to detail all 36 holes and then try to plant it as one giant course. When all is complete I will then break it up into two separate courses. Does that make sense.....??

Nah, I was just wondering how your computer was coping with the plot.

If I ever get Cambrian Ridge finished I am just gonna leave it all complete with 27 holes on one plot and plant pins for each 9 combination.
Mind you, my vert count is a squillion times less than what you are dealing with.

This plot has 352,000+ verts. That's after doing a 50% delete of a lot of them. You can tell where I deleted them.

Sage, did you delete whole areas of verts, or have you figured out some other way to pare them down?

Hi Pete,
Just pick an area and do a percentage delete. I don't know about the algorithm APCD uses for which verts to delete but it works.
