Links not opening on windows 11

Hey Titus....go to main links2k3 dir....look for a v...doo config file...if theres is one there delete it...also change the 1g memory entry to larger size...lets say ..you have 20g of ram...change the 1 ..to 16 or something....follow instructions in my previous post(regards the vd.ddo entries)...and see how you go....

PS...sorry Titus..just read you full post...if the game doesn't restart,,,go to Links 2k3 MAIN DIR...and see if there is a dg..v doo Config file in the Links 2k3 main dir,,if so delete it...also you might try selecting the 1400 by 900 res on the Links settings page...best of luck.../ the 1400 by 900 wont come into play / once v...doo is set to 1920 1080 under nglide and max under direct x the game will play at your monitors full res....

Hi, I wanted to try that again anyway, but unfortunately Links2K3 couldn't find my VGA card.

Have you installed the Nvidia patch in the main Links folder AND double-clicked it.

I have never copied the Nvidia patch into the main folder and then executed it, always from externally.

Under "Graphic Settings/Device" can you select your video card?

At this point I had already installed the dg Voodoo patch and could only select this one.

As i understand it, and has always been my practice, all patches should be placed in the main links folder and double-click to install.

If it were me(and it's not) I would uninstall that voodoo stuff, and execute the procedure outlined in the following post. That's what i would do.It works for me.

Hallo,

That was the plan,
1) install official Links2k3 Download Version
2) install Players for Links2k3 Download Version
3) install Links2k3_107_Final.exe
4) install Links2k3_nvidia_win7_FINAL.exe

Links2003 doesn't start like this either, I've tried different compatibility options, it just doesn't start, no error message!
I have almost no entries in the Rededit (10 by the old PC 24) - Device is 1 - the GraphicSettings file in Links2003 is missing

delete that config file(better yet create a new folder - cut the file ...and move it into the new folder as back up in case you need it /need to replace it in the main dir again - you shouldn.t need it as there should be an identical file in the DIRECT3Dfix folder) ..basically take the v..doo file outta there and place it the new folder)...i think the issue may be that your computer has 2 graphics/cards...@@????...is this the case if so...go to device manager ...and right click on the one that """ISN'T"""" the nvideo card...basically disable the other card ..if you have two...

Well, the CPU has an Intel® UHD Graphics 770 and is connected to the monitor from the MB, in the device manager there is only the RTX3080. I'll hang up the Intel® UHD Graphics 770 for the next try.

Incidentally Titus...where did that ..GraphicsSettings.txt file come from....???

ntel® UHD Graphics 770...right clcik on that and disable it ....run the game ...if it dont run...check the vod..voo sceenshots..match them....if doesnt run....THEN delete the v..doo config ...and see how you go...the likely problem was ...you didn.t disable one of the cards at the start of all this lol...best of luck...good old Titus...
