Links not opening on windows 11

Links2003 isn't running on my new Win10 PC either,
but I don't think it has anything to do with the Win11 or Win10 operating system.

My problem is because of the hardware, the Intel CPU i12700 !

Hey Titus...dont with bother with Direct Play....your not going to need it...give the folks that have tried to help you a proper chance to help you...and go the the bother of posting a basic spec of the machine your using...more particularly the graphics card your using, and whether or not you have a desktop/or laptop ...there is a few reg edits your can apply to make it work quite easily....if it a laptop you have you'll more than likely have to tinker about with resolution settings...and you'll need the dgvodoo wrapper...the issue your having is more than likely related to your graphics card not your cpu...

Actually, after the new installation, Links2003 doesn't start at all, Links2003 doesn't create a complete file in Regedit either,
so for example, no graphic release can be forced.

Someone else might know something particular based on your screenshots, but for now, have you done/tried these things?

-Installing the 1.07 patch.
-Installing the Nvidia patch.
-Using Compatibility settings (I dont know what they're called in German, but right-clicking the LinksMMIII.exe file and choosing Properties, then Compatibility tab, and then choosing, for example, to run the program in compatibility mode for Windows 7. Also launching the program as Administrator.
-Launching the game from LinksLauncher.exe instead of LinksMMIII.exe

There are more things to try, but I would start with those.

I have of course tried all of these basic tips several times.
( except this one 6. install lspn crash fix 7. install LSPN_MAIN_L2K3, I have never used it)

I've also copied a running clone of Links2003 (old PC) and then replaced it on the new PC, the same with the registry for Links2003,
but no success here either.

Various Win10 tips for playing older games, such as DirectPlay, DirectX, Real Play have also been tried without success.

I also installed the old NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 again, or tried the internal processor graphics · Intel® UHD graphics 770, no success either

Actually, I just wanted to say that it's not always the operating system

Yeah the LSPN ones are not needed to just play the game normally.

Is it the CD version of Links or the download version?

I have two, a Links2003 CD version and a Links2003 ISO file from Windows TenForums.

But they were never a problem, everything worked until the CPU update.

Hey Titus....skip in the installing with the cd scenario, dl'd )the official Links2k3 Final.exe from the Official Links website(purchase it if need be - its not expensive ...install the necessary Nvidia Patches and dgVdooo (if your using the Nvidia card) ..voila

ps Get the game installed and running correctly to begin with....when youv'e done that "THEN" start to fix any issues your having with LSPN online fixes....first things first do to speak...best of luck.....
