Re: Slow rendering
OMG! I think I found it! All I had to do was change the resolution to 1280 x 768 32-bit and it pops right up with no rendering delay at all! Now even a notoriously slow rendering course like Shinnecock Hills HD just pops up with no delay. Yay! Thanks for the help all. That's great news, Pancho! Cra...

Re: Slow rendering
I would've put all my chips on Driver. That's the best guess I've got. Sorry. Maybe someone else has an idea... Anyone?

Re: Slow rendering
Pancho, could it be that you are playing Links so fast that the game can't keep up? Some players talk about it taking 15 minutes to play a game. It take my old brain longer to deal with everything, and rounds can be almost an hour long. If you do play fast, some of the newer, more graphics-demanding...

You better fire that caddie! I never depend on him for any short-game shots. The yellow grass plays just like the rough that's right in front of it. LW with normal chipping elevation. The ball flies the same distance from both.

Next, run the nVidia patch. You don't need to have nVidia. It does more than just add a few things. I don't know enough about computers to make the judgement "No, I don't think I'll run it." How come you do? It solves problems you don't even know that you have. So, you want help? Run it! ...

Re: Slow rendering
I know I will be labeled "special" or a "contrarian", but I've used nvidia cards for over 20 years and never messed with the video.txt file. Sorry Dave. The guy was asking for help and I was busy trying to get him to do what I asked and along came your comment that didn't help. ...

Re: Slow rendering
Hi Pete. I am unable to edit the videocard.txt file even though I changed permissions to give full control. It just won't save. Could you send me yours? craigwfoster@hotmail.com I have gotten rid of Voodoo and have not installed the nVidia fix (since uninstalling/reinstalling Links) as I don't use ...

I'm curious. Can you do a dual boot with Linux and Windows on the same PC? Thanks!

Re: Quintero Golf Club
Cool! Looks like areas I saw when I drove around the western US a few years ago. Maybe even some ancient lava covering the area. I'm sure some of the older Links fans remember a Links course that was near the Utah city of St. George that went out into a old lava field. I believe the course name was ...
