LINKS CORNER REVIEW |

First let me say that he made a very attractive, elaborate readme with printable scorecard.
The course was quite beautifully made. The choice of colors for the tees, mowed fairways, roughs and greens were very well thought out. The assortment of trees with their elaborate undergrowth made this an exceptionally attractive course. The trees didn't line the fairways until late in the game but you must remember this is a real course and it's not up to the designer to change any features. He used the hazards, water, bunkers, dry grass, heath and wild grass as well as he could but unfortunately this is not a very interesting course to play. All of the hazards that were available to him did not make for an overly interesting or challenging game.
The elevation and the caddie were excellent. Some of the elevations led you to change or alter your clubs for a more exact shot. The putting while fairly easy had its moments on some of the sloped holes such as the 9th, 15th and the 18th. But overall you will pick up birdies here. The fairways were of generous size and on many all you had to do was change clubs to avoid the hazards.
6th hole, par 5, 490y, the fairway on this hole was divided by a hazard consisting of dry grass, water and mud. A full drive of 286y came a little to close but safe, leaving 198y to the pin. An adjusted 4 iron put me in excellent position for an eagle. You have to at least get a birdie.
10th hole, par 5, 527y, this was one of the few narrow fairways; I just stayed down the middle for 283y with 236 to go. For these in between shots I use a flop 3w, again a possible eagle, and your assured a birdie.
16th hole, par 5, 563y, I went down the left side of the fairway to avoid a large hazard, a tree and rough jutting out into the fairway, and had 273y to the flag. Even with the slight slope that gave me added yardage, this hole cannot be an eagle hole but is a very possible birdie one.
When you duplicate a 'real' course your bound by the lack or abundance of hazards and interesting holes. This course is very similar to the municipal course that you frequent often. It's beautiful but lacks any exceptional challenge. I enjoyed this course and recommend it to you. Because of its size I would hesitate to tell dialup users to get it. If you have the patience and the time it's a nice course, not exceptional but very playable.
Reviewer Note
I am a player not a designer and therefore rate a course as a player for other players.
