Wade Hampton GC 2020

Today I asked Andy to add Wade Hampton 2020 to the course file.

Wade Hampton 2020 has been updated to incorporate the actual green contour details.

I am indebted to Glenn (braden1308) for his help in sending me the Golflogic details.

The update has taken a lot longer than I expected, (over 100 hours including the testing) and would have been so much easier and efficient had I this information at the beginning. (At the start of the design I didn't know about GolfLogix, and Strakaline did not have the course details.)

Because of the changes to the greens some areas around the greens have been modified and in the case of the 6th hole, the rear left bunker has been modified in accordance with the real world.

All 18 pin settings on all 18 greens have been tested from four locations (N,S,E,W) from the 16-18 feet range and also at a random distance further away. The settings I tested (using the putting assistant) varied from F/F to Fch/Fch.

Two greens, 8th and 10th, are in my opinion, unsuitable for Firm challenging/Fast challenging because of the slope, but should you want to try, I would suggest selecting pins identified as “Easy”. Choosing other settings will certainly prove entertaining and probably a little frustrating.

There is an area on the 10th where it is impossible to get the ball near some pin locations, but with all the 324 holes I tested, if you are within 16-18 feet; based on the above settings, the putt is makeable – not necessarily by me.

I hope you enjoy playing the course.

Ian

Just played a couple rounds and thought it was a very good design, very tough at F(c) F(c). You have to be very careful on some of the fairways with the slopes that they have. Very well done

Took my maiden voyage on it, last night; stunningly beautiful, and a fair test of golf.

I have enjoyed playing a few of rounds at Wade Hampton GC 2020. Although it is a spectacular design of a great golf course, I have found a few small issues with the design. The back tee markers on a few holes are behind the ball position. There is a floating conifer in the back ground of the 6th hole. There is a house sticking out of the trees on the right side of the 12th tee. There is a house sticking out of the trees on the right side of the 13th hole.
