Aside from the fact that the course looks like the average Muni, the big drawback I see is that the course is too short for Links! There are many mid-6,000's length courses that never get used in Tournaments because they are too short for the highly skilled Links players. I run two tours with a 4 round tournament each week for each of them, and I would never use a 6500 yard course. Players would slaughter it! They shoot low-50's scores on 7,100 yard courses. Sorry - it's a fact!

Couldn't the course be lengthened another 500-700 yards to play more like 7100-7200 yards I think Cypress Point was lengthened to over 6800 yards.

Funny you brought this course up because my best friend played golf for St Ambrose and raved about Rock Island Arsenal, sad to see this course close down.
