I just played the Wildcat course and it is the worst course ever. On many holes the cup was missing making putting very difficult. In addition, the hole preview doesn't reflect what is out there off the fairways. Very sloppy.

That course was done early in my course designing career. The mistake was a common one made by beginning designers.
Your ultra constructive criticism is awesome and just what a designer loves to hear when asking for comments on mistakes or other comments. NOT

It's reviews like yours that keep me going..........NOT

The last time I couldn’t resist responding to something similar, the topic was closed down and deleted. Quite rightly too, in hindsight.

So this time I say nothing other than:
1. Measured and balanced criticism will always play much better around here; and
2 I stand with the designer brotherhood; and
3. Morvio, is that you?

There is constructive criticism and then there is derogatory and insulting criticism, the opening post falls into the latter category.

First of all, I don't give a shit what a designer's early efforts look like-the fact that he (or she) is actually trying to work with the APCD is our lifeblood. If it was an early Sage design (and I seem to remember some of his early "Imaginary" courses ) so be it. He has emerged as one of the greatest designers (along with the "Sage Corporation" (c) ) in the game today.

If there's anybody out there who's trying (I know that I have two Western Canada courses that I'd like to try, plus some "additions" to Shaughnessy) but I'll be damned if I can make it work-even after watching Len's videos. I can help with big actual sights from the Real course but I leave the "Verts" and stuff to the Corporation.

From what I understand they're very helpful when it comes to looking at works in progress...and that's exactly what we need.
There's no "Nitpicking" anymore either!

If I see something really wrong (like a missing clubhouse ) on a BETA (but even the former Nitpicker missed the wrong flag at Niagara), I'll send a PM with my thoughts. I think that's the best way-do you designers think that's a better idea?

BTW Sage-it may be the only "Real" course in Houston but I have it on my tour calendar.

Like I said, my "non-nitpicker" input always available for real course details.

And remember-decorum!

I think it is up to the designer how they want feedback, whether it be in open forum, PMs or email, their choice.

Kudos to anyone that picks up the APCD, it is not an easy piece of software.
