I was playing a match against a computer ani and lost. I turned off the computer and went to bed. When I tried to play the next day my ani was gone, as were my career stats.

I checked the "Best Shot" and course stats to see if I'd been deleted-they don't appear to have been. My best shots are still there, although my name is an orange font (that may be the way saved shots are kept). I had a couple of saved games-my ani shows up on those games-so I'm pretty sure that my any hasn't been deleted from the computer.

I'm thinking that human players are kept in a separate file and if I can find mine I'd like to find a way to restore it, along with my stats, if possible.

IIs this making sense-I'm not particularly computer literate but I truly believe that there's a solution if somebody can help.

BTW I was using Big Sexy's ani if that helps.

The ani files live in the PolyAni Folder under the Links program folder, where this is, is dependent on if you installed Links to the standard location or to a custom location you selected.

I'm struggling to remember the standard location it is something like c:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Links 2003 I install to a custom location.

The name is of the format <your ani name>.l3 for example my ani name is Des.l3

I installed a custom location too. ..although as far as my PC is concerned it's the only game I play and I was an L3.
I guess that it's lucky that I wasn't playing an online season...actually that's how I discovered my problem when I was getting set to join the new Links tour.

There are also player information files this holds information on your player like personality settings, clubs selected etc.

The player files have an extension of .PIN

They live in the folder c:\ProgramData\Links 2003\Players

I use settings that came from Pete on setting up draw and fade shots in RTS. They are a bit of a PITA to setup, so I copy the PIN file between machines.

I do, too, and then I clone that player!
