Next project?

Gentlemen,
I will be uploading a Beta version of Iron Horse, Montana very soon, therefore my mind turns to my next project.
After looking back over earlier post it seems that Pelican Hill would be a popular choice. When I search for the course I found The Resort at Pelican Hill where there are two courses, Ocean North and Ocean South, Is this the same?
I never purchased the Microsoft version, so I am unsure as this is the same and which course was issued?

Is anybody building either of these courses and if not Is there a preference?

I will then ask Linkster to perform his magic to provide a download.

Thank you,
Ian

Hi Ian,
Pelican Hill.....................
It was on my long list but I can't wait to see what you do with it. If your previous courses are any indication it will be a beauty. :clapping:
Nice to see it might be done other than the microsoft version.

Sage..... :cheers1:

The original MS release doesn't specify north or south, Ian.

Ian, I would like to just jump in here and say that Pelican Hill has long been on my list of courses I'd like to see re-done. The Microsoft version gives a person a glimpse of what the course is like, but it definitely needs the skills of a top tier designer to make it look and play like it probably should.
It has a few holes with great ocean views, and some interesting "inland" holes as well. I concur with Sage, that I think you could do a outstanding job of coming up with a new version.

Much respect................Ron

Ian,

The old 5 course Library boxed kit I have says "Best New Resort Course of 1993 - Golf Digest"

The North Course was opened in 1993.

The MS version of Pelican Hill is the south course. The back to back short par 3's #12 and double green #13 near the ocean is a distinct feature.

I found a good 2023 DEM that covers the entire course. Would you like a plot that has both courses or just the south?

Since linkster says the MS is the south course, how about the north? But it really doesn't matter.

Remember Pelican Hill fondly from the old days. A major prison nearby isnt there? Why do I remember that?

Great choice Ian, you'll do it proud. A Linkster DEM will be nice.

There was a list kept of the old courses released by Access/Microsoft that had yet to be upgraded by new designers. Linkcourses.com's "Microsoft Upgrade Project" was where Banff come from and I'll also include my Mauna Kea amongst that too.

I wonder if someone has that list handy? Sea Island? Covered Bridge? There would be alot still undone I reckon.

Alwas loved Bountiful myself and have flirted with the idea (and floated it with Linkster) that it would be my third MS project one day. There is an (unlocked) version at LC but its not great standard. My version won't happen.
