Hey,

I have read that when Links 2001 was released, with a pre-order, you received a bonus CD for usage with the APCD.
By pre-ordering Links 2001 at store locations, or online at EB World (http://www.ebworld.com)
or Gamestop (http://www.gamestop.com), gamers will receive either a CD
containing a three-hole bonus course featuring uniquely designed holes that
showcase the APCD (for pre-orders from Electronics Boutique) or a bonus disk
with 10 extra APCD terrains (for pre-orders from Babbage’s-Software, Etc.).
International orders will not be accepted. Owners of previous version of Links
LS and Microsoft Golf may be eligible for a US$15/$20 CDN mail-in rebate on
Links 2001. See the Links 2001 box for details.
Anyone heard of this? I am interested in those 10 extra APCD terrains, but failed to find anymore information about it.

Thanks

I've never seen the 2001 version of APCD, so dont take my word for it, but my guess is that they were included in the later 2003 version of APCD, so you can probably find them there. By terrains I assume they mean textures. Keep in mind that all the 2003 stock textures are of low resolution (I think they are 256x256, some even smaller), so most of them are not very impressive, to put it mildly.

That's what I expected, Adelade.

I knew of the Bonus CD that has a three hole course - Wasabi Hills, also that it was only available with some kits in the U.S. I think.

I believe that a prime difference between the versions is in the texture size limit

Links 2003 V1.07 - 1024 x 1024

Links 2003 - 512 x 512

Links 2001 - 256 x 256

Links 2003 (APCD 1.5) has seam blending also is my understanding.

The texture size would prevent courses being built using the later texture sizes being used in earlier versions of the software.
