This guy is a good example of what I was talking about in another post: the lack of personality on the PGA amongst younger players. Henley chips into the hole for eagle on the 16th at Bay Hill, and shows absolutely no physical excitement; no fist pump, no waving the hat, no smile, nothing. When the camera zooms in on his face, he looks like his dog just died. He just trudges over, picks his ball out of the hole -- his caddy was more excited. He doesn't seem to care whether he wins or not, and neither do I. I'd never bother watching televised golf these days; a funeral would be more entertaining.

Sure, a player has to be focused, but not even a fist pump? I watched Sunday golf for many years, all the way back to Lee Trevino, Nicklaus, Palmer, etc., so that's what I'm comparing him with. Remember when TV golf was exciting?

Honestly, when I saw that clip (I'm 12 hours away from the optimum time zone to watch US TV, so I only see videos), I thought "Is that a man, or a zombie? I wonder what it takes to get him excited, I guess a 54-foot chip-in for eagle wasn't enough?" LIV certainly threw a wrench into the works (or a "spanner" depending on your nationality), but the PGA needed a kick in the pills IMO, and we're finally starting to see some innovation. But still, who doesn't miss Kevin Na whiffing on a tee shot, or taking a 16 or whatever it was? Or Phil knocking one into the pond having an almost guaranteed US Open win? Now that's GOLF!

But it's the same in almost all sports, except Pro wrestling. Look at an NHL game-there are broadcast teams that interview layers between periods. They might be coming off after having a big fight with another player and...nothing. Everybody is too concerned with "media friendliness" Canadian hockey fans will remember Don Cherry (former Bruin coach).. He used to be on the "Hockey Night in Canada" broadcast team (Google "Coach's Corner"). He wasn't afraid to say what he felt about players...you know how the CBC ended this story.

Chi Chi, who passed just last year might lead list of etc.'s. Interesting to think of older golfers no longer alive or older ones still alive such as Nicklaus and Trevino. See Trevino on tv everday advertising arthritic knee pain centers that he himself is using.

Absolutely, "etc." doesn't even get started on the players I miss watching.
