Wow, Gil Hanse worked his magic again at the tired Colonial CC this past year. For those who dont know, the club closed Monday following the tourney last year and went under a thorough renavation, all new grass, reshaped green edges and bunkers, with Holes 5,7,8,12,13,16 seeing the biggest changes. Hanse likes to take bunkers out and put in dry scrubby areas along w chipping areas to make the courses harder for the Pros. The changes look awesome, cant wait to incorporate these into my old Colonial, should be fun. Will use new laser green scans once available also. Interestingly enough, the sandy waste area barranca left of #5 fwy was actually there in the 1930-40s when the course was 1st designed.

They did some serious renovation here, check out #1 tee/#9 green which was a great place to hang out, just 30y from each other, wow, and some more to throw in

Out of curiosity is it a 1024x1024 texture course? I saw the database indicating it was but saw some softness in some of the views up close. Cheers -

they were HD textures, will change them again prob for the new 2024 version, adding the scrubby look also that is similar to what Hanse did in restoring the waste areas at Los Angeles North
