Wow Weeler...you sound like (dare I say it?) A FELLOW NITPICKER!!! :clapping: :clapping:
I'm a frustrated APCD'er (and becoming more frustrated every day!-but I'm still determined to do my "Tribute to Thompson)

Does anybody know where Matt Henry is? It's his course. I'll be happy to do a quick nitpick to enable him to make it a "Final".

And I think that any Linkster who has played a round would be more than impressed with the houses that he built!

BTW-the view from behind the first green is a great idea! It would be hard to find any serious "nits".

I think that this course deserves it's own topic, so I'm setting one up-hopefully it will get Matt's attention. This was the home of the Bob Hope Desert Classic but appears to have been dropped from the current rotation of the tournament-it's still a beauty!

There's something else that I noticed about the Palmer Course-in fact it applies to many courses including The Old Course and Augusta-many of the holes have their own nicknames. Is it possible to include hole nicknames with APCD?
...just wondering...

Didnt you ask that before Jimbo? (Maybe wasnt you.) Holes can be assigned names in APCD but it is pointless to do that since it wont show up anywhere in Links anyway, you can however instead put hole names on either the hole previews or 2D object hole signs (or even custom 3D hole signs, if you have the energy for making such).

About PGA West (Palmer), a while back I emailed Matt Henry asking if I could make an update of the course (mainly only because I want to add hole previews to it), using the email found in the readme of another course he made, but no reply. The course is locked.

I played this course several times in the past, but then I deleted it from my collection for some reason. I just downloaded it again. Overall, I think it
definitely evokes that Southern California ( Palm Springs area ) type of look and feel. However, I will admit that the "designer made" rounded mountain
areas don't seem to fit in very well. They look too contrived and not realistic. Were it not for them, it would be great. I'd also like to see the green
surfaces look a bit more smooth and manicured as well....but that's just me. I think I'll play another round on it today.

I probably did mention hole names earlier-I remember the Leafs winning the Stanley Cup but don't ask me what I haf for dinner last night!😉
It's too bad that there's mo place for hole names (there are some great and famous names!)
I agree that the hills surrounding the course look "interesting" but I visited the course website and I must admit that the real ones look "interesting" too IMHO. :dunno:
Anyway, MATT-IF YOU'RE STILL A "LINKSTER" WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU! YOUR APCD SKIILS ARE UP THERE WITH SAGE AND BROOKSIE (actually if I recall your courses came first).

...and your "housework" is amazing! :notworthy:
