You should not need a wrapper, they are more to facilitate using Intel GPUs, they may be applicable though to using higher resolutions at times, I'm not sure on that aspect due o the hardware I have and I have not seen any definitive answers on that matter.
What screen resolution to you have?
Windows 11 Install
Re: Windows 11 Install
Hi Ondrej,
I know the problem, I also spent a long time trying to install Links 2K3 on Windows 11.
It launches now, though not every time, so don't give up.
I have no idea why it's working now.
I am running on,
64-bit Windows 11 Pro,
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-14700KF (3.40 GHz),
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB,
32 GB RAM,
no voodoo involved.

Re: Windows 11 Install
I have 3440x1440 on my desktop, but my intention is to play it windowed, 1620 by something. Hell, my intention is to get it running! It just refuses to start. GPU drivers version: 610.62. Thanks!
Re: Windows 11 Install
The only resolutions that Links supports around 1600 pixels in the X direction is 1600 x 1200 (Links mode 4) and 1680 x 1280 (Links Mode 12).
The screen you have is classed as a 21:9. This is an aspect ratio that Links does not know about.
I do not have an experience of using a screen size that Links does not support in itself (with the 1.07 update it supports up to 1920 x 1200), out of the box Links tops out at 1280 x 1024, so I believe you will need help from a user that has a higher resolution screen, that has Links running.

Re: Windows 11 Install
Links 2K3 doesn't support resolutions higher than 1920x1080 or 1920x1200
I have an LG 48CX – 3840 x 2160, with Nvidia 591.86.

Re: Windows 11 Install
I can sometimes get it started in a window mode, but then I'm unable to change gfx settings. Could some of you please paste your registry entries for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\LINKS 2003\DisplaySettings ?
I will try force them (right now I've got the values blank).

Re: Windows 11 Install
If it is installed correctly, it looks like this.

Re: Windows 11 Install
Thanks for that! I was able to set Mode 14 and now it (though intermittently) works! As long as I don't touch graphics menu, I'm good. I knew I was asking at the right place
Re: Windows 11 Install
Mode = 14 means a resolution of 1920 x 1080.
Windows = 0 however means full screen mode, setting it to 1 selects Windowed mode, Software = 0 means Hardware rendering - Setting it to 1 will not work. Device = 1, I believe means the second GPU, this implies the embedded GPU is also active. Depth = 1, means 32 bit mode.
Trying to change these in Links, rather than editing the registry directly can be problematic.
