This thread is from a few years back. A guy who went by "boot" was touting some patch that was developed by some guy that fixed everything! But it was top secret. Perhaps the same patch?
:cheers1:

I recall seeing this thread earlier this year and this recent posting, having vagueness stamped all over it, promising a wonder patch by an undisclosed person, has all the hallmarks of the 'ultimate patch' referred to in the thread referenced

I do recall reading that thread and a so called 423mb "patch". That is more than just a patch I suspect that would be just about every exe and dll there is. The size alone makes me question it.

Without concrete evidence, I put it down to vapourware.

I'm running Links on 11th and 13th generation i5 systems with Windows 11, hence so much for Links not running on "newer" CPUs.

Golfy wrote: December 9th, 2025, 6:46 am Just PM .... as I already posted. He can answer anything you wish to know. Patch is well known. It was on Discord for a couple of years before they took the server down. That's where I found out about Links Corner searching out old golf games. There is a big no public sharing thing around the patch why I suggest to contact .... directly. Hope this helps.
Without knowing who the HE is how can one possibly PM the said oracle :dunno:

The patch may be well known - but to whom? Not to me alas.

I assume you are talking about a patch other than those detailed here at the LC home page https://linkscorner.org :cheers1:
That's really weird. I typed the name in my posts and it didn't show. I didn't type those dots, I typed the member name. Tried it again in this post and previewed my post and his name still didn't show. The following works, must be some forum spam filter or something triggering the removal of his name. PM member V.i.p.e.r. without the dots.

Yes, it's something like 423mb. Has everything needed to run the game and update what is needed on a specific system. Don't think the entire 423mb is always applied. Why are people here so negative?

Skeptical is probably a better word.

There are only vague references and I have never seen any of the regular posters talk about it in any way, that makes me question its existence.

While I have only been active again on the forums in the last year or so, I have routinely been visiting the forums over the years, both this forum and the old forum and I generally download anything of interest and do take note of Links use on newer systems.
