I wonder that myself, someone might know. But it is not too surprising that the game will not work when you havent gotten to the step of applying the Nvidia patch yet.

There should be more stuff listed in the display your missing 4 entries ...do a fresh install.....incidentally post whether or not your on a laptop with 2 graphics cards...ps ya dont have a full registry list....likelyhood Adelade is right and you haven.t applied the patches...ps links fails to run ...8 times otta 10 its a res issue....booooyahhh

I've started back with a fresh install, I have found this each time I tried each bit of help separately
1: Without any updates the game drops
2: With 1.02,1.05,1.07 , nvida : The game drops
3: With registry edits: The game drops
4: with everything in GoBucks post: The game drops
This is my sixth attempt though with no success :( ,
I must be doing something wrong but I dont know what

ps when you do a frsh install....BEFORE you run the game....zoom into the reg....and see if you have a complete registry list ..like my screenie

I've followed each bit of help as carefully as I can
I've tried each step:
one by one each time is the same result: links fires up and drops
To be clear
fresh install: fire links up loads but drops
add patch: 1.02 : fire links up loads but drops
add patch: 1.02, 1.05 : fire links up loads but drops
add all three patches: fire links up loads but drops
add each update oner at a time then the nvida patch: fire links up loads but drops
add 1,02 and registry edits ,no nvidea : fire links up loads but drops! with nvidea : fire links up loads but drops
add 1.02, 1.05 and registry edits ,no nvidea : fire links up loads but drops! with nvidea : fire links up loads but drops
add all three patchs and registry edits: fire links up loads but drops
I think you get the idea
, I've done each different way possible , I'm on my 12th attempt with a fresh install

Did you dl'd the official Final.exe from the Links country club...or are you installing from cd's...asked if you have 2 graphics cards and have a laptop....incidentaly you screenie shows mode as 1 ....your were told to change that 1 to 14...to do that right click on mode....choose modify...and change 1 to 14

I posted about that, It didnt work though?
You suggested to keep trying , I did for an hour, of rebooting my computer at each attempt, nothing worked
I should say, it loaded but dropped each and every time
So since it didnt work, I've started a fresh, with a fresh install
my card below :)
