For my unauthorised round 4, I scored a
70. Not a great score in this company, but it was a pleasure to return to the game of golf.

A 67. Birdied all of the par 5s from greenside bunkers or deep rough around the green. Converted all nine of my missed greens into pars, some of which were also from bunkers or deep rough, which must be a first for me and thanks to the softer greens. So, after all is said and done, I guess I made the most of an inconsistent round.

After yesterday's nerve shattering round I spent extended time practicing to *try* and get some feel back.
The shakes kept threatening to show, but was kept to poor distance control more than anything.
Left a lot of long putts out there, but my lag putting was pretty good today. Driving was quite good, but only 55% of greens in regulation, so lots of chipping. Given the positions I left myself in I thought 23 putts was pretty decent.
Many of the pins were tucked away in hard places to access, that did not help the old distance control, trouble short and trouble long, only the degree of trouble varied, sand or long grass take your pick. I hit out of plenty of bunkers and played out of plenty of long grass. Fortunately no water today, I deliberately played to be short or long of the wet stuff.
No bogies, 2 birdies on the front 9, and 2 on the back 9 for a 68. The putter and chip shot saved me a few times, well more than a few.
Conditions were much more favourable today.

Jimbo,
I always wonder why 3 of the 6 golfers that I draft miss the cut!
I shouldn't complain, I've done better the last few weeks.
