70; probably going to be gardening this weekend (as if.) Hole-out for eagle (14) and two tap-in birdies on the back. Otherwise, meh.

If you really care to see it, it's a 3-parter:

Looks like I am out second.

A 68 today which is a vast improvement.

The lines are very tight on this course, I collected about 3 trees. Ended up in a couple of bunkers but got out pretty well. I was using my stock fade and draw shots a bit, at times judged them well, at other times not nearly well enough, mostly when the wind got involved.

The club control today was still quite mixed, some really well played shots but too many quite average shots that ended up short or long. The putter was a mixed bag, some good putts but a couple of misses that should have been taken, so there was a good deal of scrambling. Was in a few bad positions on the green and managed to putt to ball right off, the penalty for being above the hole and not being able to strike it gently enough, I had backed off the speed a lot but was still surprised by the roll. My chipping again got a lot of use.

The par three I found to be relatively difficult, did not give myself any scoring opportunities there, the par 5's fairly consistent, was very up and down with the par 4s, that is where I lost most shots but also made up most. 5 of my birdies were on the par 4's

So 6 birdies in total, but offset by 4 bogies. So quite a bit of inconsistency in the play. I am finding there is quite a fine line between a good shot and an average shot.

Thomas,

After my most recent round I went out to the driving range and tried a range of different mouse sensitivity settings. I'm sure I looked at this some time back, different settings does not seem to make any difference on my system. At best I get about 180 kph, mostly it is in the 170+ range, provided I hit the ball in the centre of the club, off centre hits get penalised accordingly.

Today I had two practice rounds, and it made no difference

I agree whole heartedly with the observations of Des. This course for mere mortals is very hard.
I had my fair share of luck - hitting a tree and bouncing into the fairway, hitting to the green and reaching it, when I should have chipped out, etc..
Going out, I had birdies at 1,2, 7, and 8 with bogeys at 6 and 9. Coming home I had birdies at 10 and 17 with a bogey at 15 and a dreaded double bogey on 18.
My second round score was 32/36, 68.

(I doubt that I will make the cut, but I think I will play the next two rounds because I enjoy this course. Thank you Dorse and Danny D. Adelade, you have a wry sense of humour judging by some of the pin positons.)

Round 2 started out as per usual, found sand front right of the green but still able to make par, 2nd hole more of the same, found sand in front of green couldn't get out the first try and when I did missed the bogey putt for double bogey, missed the green at #4 and made a 54 foot par putt, birdie at #7, more sand at #8 and another double bogey, missed a makeable 8 footer for birdie at #9 to go out in 38, 2nd 9 started out with more sand but was able to make par before birdies at #11 and #12 another birdie at #14 sand at #15 and #16 led to another bogey, par at #17 and lip out for par at #18 to come back in in 33 shots for a 2nd round 38-33=71 13 fairways but 7 greens and only 22 putts, good off the tee and laid up with 3 and 5 woods on a couple of the holes but struggled with shots into the green but was able to scramble and make par often. Just looked at the leaderboard and at 3 under par I'm just above the cut line -2 hopefully I can make the cut and play the weekend.

73. This is a more normal score for me on this course, which I have played many, many times, than my first round 67.
