Trust the media to get it wrong!

Pancreatitis is the diagnosis. Only have notebook with me I may still see how it plays on it, I normally use a desktop.

Good to hear from you Des.

I practiced my short game for a while before starting the second round. :bookh:
2 birdies, a bogie and a double bogey took me out in 37. Absolutely overjoyed. :clapping:
Started the back 9 with a birdie to go even, what a simple game this is.
In the water again on 14, (but only for a double bogey, not a septuplet bogey, if there is such a thing).
Unfortunately I pulled my approach to the eighteenth and landed in the sand. Ended up with a 6 for a 75.
A disappointing end but I am very satisfied. Perhaps a 66 tomorrow?

 I don't like gusty.

Damn doctors sent my clubs to the next tour stop, no one would lend me a set of left handed clubs and the doctors refused to take the cannula out as well.

Golf is a fickle game, Links lives up to it well. To play well with fast challenging setting with RTS you need the ball in just the right place. Side hill putts are not forgiving.

I think with Links it is wise to go to the driving range and do a bit of practice on the short game with the right settings to get the feel of the speed and bounce.

AJ pushed some of the challenging setting quite a bit.

Played round 2, bogied the easy #2 when i drove right, left of green into pine needles on approach, sand short left of green, flopped out missed 18 footer to save par, boring pars the rest of the front 9 for 37, started back 9 with pars until a 3 putt bogie from the back of #14 green, stuck approach shot at #16 for 4 foot birdie to come back in 35 for a 37-35=72 1 over par round. Couldn't get any of my approach shots close enough to make some birdies. 12 fairways, 13 greens, 33 putts. The gusty winds do seem to cause problems for me as well, most of the them were either straight into or behind not cross winds.

Des - hope you're feeling better, have to admit I laughed out loud at the media report in Southcitygolf's tournament notes.

9 GIR only in round 2 yet I manage a 7 under par round. After an Eagle on the Par-5 5th I proceeded to bogie the next 3 holes. I thought to myself either I sulk in my misery  or I turn my cap around put my head down and pull up my big boy pants and play some frickin golf.

I, too, only hit 9 greens in regulation. However, I did not come close to matching Cam's terrific achievement. It was a day of making a birdie or two, then do something stupid, in a Groundhog Day sort of way. So, I walked off with a 71. Since it's a no-cut tournament, I will continue along and see what kind of check I can cash.

I really do not like this course. (I could not find an emoji for sour grapes.)

I did sneak out and used the first rounds pins, I thought a 75 was not too bad under the circumstances and given the ball went for a swim on one hole, I was not about to follow it.

While sitting here I have played the course a few times. While the wind is a factor I have mostly found it manageable. The FC greens on the other hand the ball has no holding power and often ends up on the fringe, there are some diabolical breaks out there where the bill will just not stop, even if you just breathe on it.

100% agree with you Des. Unless I can get an approach shot within 10 feet, I feel like my putt or chip could end up anywhere. Even then, I sometimes leave myself with a putt that's longer than the one I started with.
