Rendering distance for 2D objects depend on 1: how large they are and 2: where you have your "picture quality" slider set at in Links' Graphics Settings. Not having the slider on max will make the afar surroundings on this course look sort of bland, putting the slider to max improves the look a lot in most places. However, putting it to max might result in a less smooth swing meter, depending on your system and which background tasks are running.
Hi Adele,
thanks for your answer. I got all on max (highest quality) on every slider possible. My swing meter has no problems with it.
Maybe another colour of the surface, instead of that grey concrete-like colour, would make this look ok.
Anyone else similar Problems. Can someone post a picture from one Tee shot (you can choose ...the Worts Hole are 9, 16, 18, 14, 5, 2 )..so I can compare it with my view from there.
Next 2 images - small items viewed from a distance. The surface being viewed doesn't matter - the graphics quality is reduced when the slider is moved left.
Just for the record, Luenz was referring to the lack of detail he's noticing on "Quintero", and you're posting screenshots of "Old Head" and "Wolf Creek".
What's the connection ? I know you probably mean well.
My examples were meant to show the display of large objects from a distance varying the graphics slider, which was demonstrated, and the second one was showing the display of small objects from a distance varying the graphics slider. I had minimum information about where he was looking on the course he was talking about. Ok?
Your chosen courses look fine (slider is max) when I'm in the same spots. But Quintero is completely different. Like I wrote it's all grey with single cacti in the distance.
For my comparison I was looking for pictures from Tee-Shots of one or two Holes I mentioned.
I gave you examples so you could do the looking for yourself. The first example is a "large object" example from a distance (the lighthouse). With the slider all the way to the right (ie. max "detail"), you CAN see the lighthouse. With the slider 4 clicks to the left from the same distance, you can NOT see the lighthouse*.
I'm used to dealing with people who are familiar with all the Links features if you don't understand what I'm saying. If you're confused, please say so.
"Slider" - Located in "Graphic Settings", labeled "Picture Quality".
*Note: when you change the slider, you need to "force" a screen redraw so you can see results of that slider movement. In the "Rotate" screen box (located just below the bottom of the screen below your player's feet) you can rotate your view a few degrees right or left among the other things you can do. One or two degrees adjustment might not do it, you might have to move it 5 or 6 degrees, but when you make the adjustment and click the "OK" button, you will see your screen redraw. You need the screen redraw so your screen will reflect your movement of the slider.
In the current world's "instant" feedback, you wouldn't have to force a screen redraw. That needs to be done in this case because of old software.
With all the detail in your screenshots I'd say your slider is way right. I see great detail in the distance. As far as grey dirt is concerned, I've seen all kinds of colors out west. How about Germany? Do you guys have grey-ish color dirt?
