So what is the verdict. A second beta or a final?
I'll go with what the majority thinks.
I'll give it a few days before I go one way or the other.

I never checked the first beta out much because I saw there were only 1 pin per green and no hole previews and I didnt know what other parts were still in progress. I prefer testing when courses are basically finished, otherwise I might waste time checking something out and writing notes about something that ends up being completely changed later anyway, which has happened a couple times.

So at least I would check out a second beta.

Then what's the use of betas if some people don't check it out and present issues to be looked into? Does not make sense to me to have betas if some people are not even gonna look at them that can find issues to be worked out.

Hi,
I'm lying on a rock here, but it's shown or played as a bunker.

Greetings

Hi Titus,
Due to other comments earlier about texture properties I already checked them all and updated everything I could find that was miss labeled.
Thanks for the input...!!!!

I think you may have misinterpreted what I said, I think betas are very useful, I just personally prefer to test things out when they are intended to be finished, rather than me perhaps studying certain details and writing up feedback about it, and then later it turns out the designer was planning on changing those anyway - that is just a waste of time. Ideally, testers can be made aware of which details are still planned to be worked on or not so they dont have to make guesses. Sometimes it is obvious that something is not done, but sometimes not. In this case with the previous beta, I immediately saw a couple things that were obviously not finished and since that likely meant there were other things that were still in progress, I didnt want to make guesses about which and instead saved my time and energy for something else. I have nothing against work-in-progress test versions, they can be very useful too, I just think my efforts, personally and in general, are more effective on betas that are closer to finished.

Sage,

Yes, put a second beta out. I want to check #4 tee area anyway. I don't know if you want to put more rocks in the creek beds on hole's 11 and 13. Its up to you but they do need more.

Sage,
this is one fantastic course you've produced. Your recreation is virtually spot on. My primary comment/recommendation is the greens.

I've played four Mike Stranz designed courses (This one, Stonehouse, Royal New Kent, and Tobacco Road), and he generally GIVES you the fairway; they're expansive to say the least, putting a premium on approach shot making. The real course defense are the severely undulating greens. You got Tobacco Road pretty accurate, but the greens on this course are quite tame by comparison. Just an observation.

As someone else mentioned, a lot of rocks are missing, but they don't take away from the course playability one bit!

Also, have you considered moving up the 12th tee just a bit, and removing trees on the left to give a sightline to the green, to making it potentially drivable? Just a thought.

Again, great job!!!!!

Glenn Braden is doing the green contours as we speak..............So you can thank him when the course gets another beta release. Rocks will be added also. Maybe some other details. That's why I love the comments...!!!!!
