Jimbo,
I have loved Aussie Rules Football since it was on ESPN back in the 80's.
FS1 and FS2 air games as well in the USA, I watch bits and pieces of them but being in the Eastern Time Zone and 54 years of age, I can't stay up much past 1 AM anymore. I root for the NFL Detroit Lions, CFL BC Lions and AFL Brisbane Lions, I think all 3 teams enjoyed good success last year.

I'm a Wing Nut but being from Toronto I bleed double blue. As for AFL "Watch the Bombers Fly Up" (maybe) but they had high drama against Fremantle at the MCG!

Jimbo,
Living in the Detroit area, in the good old days before Digital Television, Hockey Night in Canada was my favorite TV show, my wife knew that from October to June make no plans on Saturday nights. Because of this, the Leafs are my second NHL team, I saw the Cubs win a World Series so I believe I will see the Stanley Cup lifted up by the Leafs one day.

I'm a Wing Nut because of Number Nine.
The first time I met him was when my mother took me to the Royal York Hotel-in the six-team days that was theit Toronto hotel and players would be milling around the lobby waiting for the bus to take them to MLG (now they could walk across the street). He had just put out the first hockey instruction book (Hockey Here's Howe) sponsored by Campbell Soup. Not only did he sign the book (and he always "personalized" his autographs), he then took us around the lobby, introduced us to the other Wings and got them to sign too.
Years later he was on a book tour for his autobiography and I introduced him to my son-he signed the book for him , also personalized.
The last time was when I took an overnight bus to the Joe so I could get in line. Gretzky was there too.

I love telling this story to my hockey friends-sometimes ad nauseum...but the "old" memories tend to remain clearer the older you get...and that's one I'll never forget-no matter what!
