BALL FLIP

Post by Jimbo »

I was watching the LPGA Match Play tournament. I noce that if a player loses a hole she'll do a little "ball flip" with her putter and either flip it into her hand or simply balance it on the putter...HOW???
I could have said HTF but I'm too much of a gentleman...

It depends on the putter, but it's easy to do if it has this shape:

I was a caddy at the Royal Montreal GC when I was 12-13, many years ago, and I saw that even back then. I'm sure the trees that were staked as "saplings" at the time are likely being replaced now (the Blue course). I'm pretty certain that type of putter was chosen so as to avoid bending over to pick up the ball.

I was no good even when I was able to play (totally mis-instructed by my old man). I haven't played for real since 1997, and post-stroke, I couldn't even walk a course now. When I wake up in the morning, it's already a good day :D I played Gallagher's Canyon in Kelowna back in 1980, and it was the only golf course they had. I see now, on GE, there are 12-13 courses!

That makes 2 of us. I always had a problem trying to hit the ball baseball style...and the result wasn't good. Now I have health issues...but I can still break par on Links...usually!
I only wish that I could work APCD like Sage, Inc. (I that's what I call the designers...I think the whole group is using Sage as a corporte nme)😄

I'm sure many of us have looked at the APCD, even just to make our home course. I can make most programs work but when I looked at the APCD years ago it was a case of WTF is this, how does is work, how can you do anything in it.

I lack a PhD in computer science, that is apparently a requirement to use the software.
