Colonial and or Eastlake redo's?
Colonial and or Eastlake redo's?
Just wondering if any of the course designers are already working on, or would be willing to work on, an update to the apcd course design for these newly renovated courses : Colonial C. C. And Eastlake. G. C.?

No on East Lake as there hasn't been anything to work with. They rebuilt the entire course, tees, greens and fairways, took out trees and even changed one of the lakes (that I am aware of) so there isn't anything to work from. I don't know how long it takes for the new lidars to come around, that's linksters area.
I can't speak for Colonial, that was Eric Dorsey's course.

Wow, Gil Hanse worked his magic again at the tired Colonial CC this past year. For those who dont know, the club closed Monday following the tourney last year and went under a thorough renavation, all new grass, reshaped green edges and bunkers, with Holes 5,7,8,12,13,16 seeing the biggest changes. Hanse likes to take bunkers out and put in dry scrubby areas along w chipping areas to make the courses harder for the Pros. The changes look awesome, cant wait to incorporate these into my old Colonial, should be fun. Will use new laser green scans once available also. Here they are, courtesy of the PGA Tour's website. enjoy
Interestingly enough, the sandy waste area barranca left of #5 fwy was actually there in the 1930-40s when the course was 1st designed.

Also could add Quail Hollow and Medinah #3 into mix and maybe several more. Both were designed around 2006 in Links. Since then Quail Hollow hosted 2017 PGA and will do the same in 2025. Plus it is venue for annual tour stop, the Wells Fargo. And to add was site of 2022 President's Cup. Medinah #3 has been recently undergoing renovations that I see. This course will be site of the 2026 President's Cup. Like Castle Pines recently Medinah #3 back in 2019 was host of BMW tournament. Most notably even in 2019 hole #15 had a pond added to right front of green and tees were set making this short par 4 potentially driveable if were able to avoid the new pond. Also hole #17 had green moved to bottom right side just over pond instead of before as remember when Tiger won the 1999 PGA. Then and in release of course have here in Links the green is to left atop a hill away from pros being likely to hit into pond.

medinah #3 is now a totally different golf course then it was for the BMW championship. they are totally redoing the course new tees greens fairways everything. so theres absolutly no info out on that course.

I noted changes were in effect back in 2019 when saw BMW then and you are correct Medinah #3 course is currently being redone before 2026 President's Cup takes place. For Quail Hollow some sites have hole #1 being a dogleg right par 4 of 500 yards where this site lists hole #1 as a 571 yard par 5. The first 4 holes now might be par 5,4,4,3 if go by this link here. https://course.bluegolf.com/bluegolf/co ... erview.htm
Whereas playing the course in Links pars were 4,3,4,4 to start off.

Don't forget Quail Hollow!
Quail Hollow, as it appears in our course inventory is the original design by George Cobb in 1961. When the 2017 PGA Championship was awarded it was decided to have Tom Fazio do a redesign for visual purposes (at least that was the "official" reason). The course was completely rerouted and also extended from 7,400 to 7,600 yards. The players were less than thrilled but nonetheless they soldier on.
I don't know if anybody is working on the current design...
