What resolution are you trying to use? If you go to the "Graphics Settings" under "Options" in links, you may find it. Links 1.07 added wide-screen support. I'm set at 1920x1080x32 bit. I haven't used the registry trick for many years.Captain Nemo wrote: ↑January 4th, 2025, 3:45 pm gobucks : Installed as directed, but on execution Links crashed to a small black screen that described a display problem (something about 3d display) and an auto fix. This allowed Links to start in standard screen. Do you know how I get Links to display in wide screen?![]()

GoBucks:
Wanted to use the same as you, but my Links Graphic Settings/Options only shows standard ratios. That is why Stephen provided me the link to the 5 year old posting for the regedit procedure to add that setting. However the entries I was supposed to click on under that "HKEY_CURRENT USER" do not appear under my Windows 11 "HKEY_CURRENT USER". So it appears I will just have to play it in the highest standard resolution I have available, which is 1280x1024.

Re: Microsoft Update 24H2
On each occasion I have installed Links the registry entries only appear after I have started Links in that user account. Once you set something the registry entries should be there as that is where Links stores the information.

Are you running v1.07?Captain Nemo wrote: ↑January 11th, 2025, 9:11 pm GoBucks:

What number is in the registry? can you change it to "14" ?

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Links 2003\DisplaySettings
I often alter the Windowed to 1 when I am setting up new events at LSPN

Re: Microsoft Update 24H2
Thanks to every one for your Help .
Much Too complicated to explain what I see via the various instructions you gave me, But can't change anything in the directory associated with Links2003, although I can see it (Apparently no resolution)
, pardon the pun!
) .
I am currently alternately playing Jack Nicklaus 6 ( old, so just standard resolution) followed by a few rounds of Links 2003 in standard resolution, which makes it not seem so bad.

NOTE: My Desktop PC is working fine and My 28" monitor displays all my other apps and games at 1920 x 1080 -32 bit ... not happy about the impact of the Links2003 24h2 update, but, the good news is...... life is short and then you die!!!
Cheers

Re: Microsoft Update 24H2
Microsoft has inflicted 24H2 on my notebook.
Apart from resetting some of my customizations it seems to be working fine.
Link starts and runs.

Re: Microsoft Update 24H2
This update is broken beyond words.
I've had the option of installing it for a while but haven't due to issues raised here and all over the web.
Like my compatriot above, that option appears to have been revoked.
A few days ago my 23H2 PC, which normally operates as smooth as was clunky AF upon a new day start up - apps would take forever to open, edge was
all over the place - slow, freezing. A simple Photoshop app update dragged on and on to eternity, games freezing and so on.
After some investigation I discovered I was now running a 24H2 machine....FMD. A rollback to 23H2 and all is perfect in my PC world again. Until now, when I have just seen the 24H2 update is again waiting to be installed upon next start up. FFS, I am pissed off beyond words that I am being forced to accept this standard of service from a multi-billion dollar company....
