Re: City Park Links
Thanks for this and the Allen course, Sage. I will get around to playing them today most likely. Anyone else notice that when you play Colonial, when the round is over and you get to the stats page (longest drive, GIR, etc.), it's all zeros? I thought my installation was corrupt when I first saw tha...

Re: Hard Disc crash
Sage is a course monster, I'm almost certain he has a couple of AI clones working for him.

Re: Hard Disc crash
I use Macrium Reflect to create an image (not clone) of my SSD C: drive every two weeks, and I've had to restore the drive using an image once already, so at least I know 100% that it works. I have 16.5TB on this system, and I back up everything I create (many photos), or download, to backup drives....

Re: A step away from modern day
It's fun looking through the old Radio Shack catalogs now and then. I've owned a few of those items, mostly speakers (lost count of the pairs of Minimus 7's). Radio Shack is long gone, and now I see Circuit City is done too -- walked into a CC one day, asked where are the Molex connectors, and the h...

Re: Real courses are blah
Unfortunately, real courses in Links usually play far too easily compared with playing it in person. That's just how it is, and sometimes designers will tweak it a little, making the fairways a bit narrower or longer, just to make it "not blah". There are exceptions. I've been playing Oakl...

Re: GBVC is now LVC - what features do we need/not need
mwc0914 ...... Do you know what version of Excel we will need or if there is something free or cheap we can use to run it? Another option that allows editing of spreadsheets: Download and install Bluestacks, an Android emulator (there are at least six other emulators to choose from, NOX, LDPlayer, ...

MS has a free Excel viewer at this link, but it doesn't allow data entry.

Re: Austin Country Club
I just DL'd this one, and yes, the greens are enough to get me to not bother. I played the first two holes and I have to ask: Are the greens and pin placements really like that? Having just played PGA National a few times, which is not an easy course, at least the greens are fairly straightforward a...

Re: Corrupted course downloads
ChuckyB: I too have had this problem many times now, and only on this site! Most files download and extract just fine; others, strangely enough, I re-download exactly the same way, and usually they extract correctly the second time. For reference, I use Internet Download Manager for the actual downl...
