And speaking of powerlines, wasn't there a much earlier course where if you put too much loft on your drive on a certain hole, you'd hit the powerlines strung across the fairway?
I look forward to another course, Sage!

Re: PEBBLE BEACH 2004
It's been many years since I played 2K4-Chuck was a magician...those houses are amazing!. It's just that on the real course there's only a single tree. Those were the pre-cut pick days!😉 I’m pretty sure I built the 3D for Chuck! I just can’t remember. I think I built the clubhouse does someone have...

Re: PEBBLE BEACH 2004
Here's a picture that I took of the tree in the early 90's or so. Pebble Beach is around the bend to the left and Cypress Point is behind me.

Re: PEBBLE BEACH 2004
I have had power in house out since Saturday Morning until this morning because of an ice storm. I watched some of early rounds at Pebble and I do believe there is just the one lone tree now instead of the 2 as shown in a picture that gave a link indicating 2. In 2004 version they are out 275 and 2...

Hi Pat-I'm the unofficial Beta course "nitpicker" and I have a bit of a fetish for 3d objects... ...and clubhouses. Welcome back! Well maybe you could help me. Do you have any pics of Chuck’s Pebble Beach clubhouse? I believe I built that as well Pat I have all the originals right here, P...

Re: PEBBLE BEACH 2004
We certainly couldn't afford to play most of the courses...except here on this site. But I try to buy golf shirts from the clubs that we visit on our drives. My wife isn't thrilled...but almost all of these exclusive clubs will accommodate visitors-as long as you phone ahead. They won't let you int...

Re: PEBBLE BEACH 2004
Back in 2003 or 4, the trees you see on the 18th fairway were newly planted because the two trees prior were diseased or the salt water intruded upon them. The two trees prior were much bigger and more mature, obviously, but these two new pines should have grown at least 20 or 30 feet by now. Chuck...

Re: PEBBLE BEACH 2004
I always thought that it was just a "lone pine" at the dog leg. But check out those houses! We visited Pebble Beach many years ago-you have to pay an admission fee to get into the neighbourhood-honest. That's what this Lonkster loves to see...but you probably know that already!😉 It was th...

Re: Aiming
When laying out the holes on a course, the APCD wants you to lay out a par 3 hole as a 1 shotter. a par 4 as a 2 shotter and a par 5 as a 3 shotter. 2 putts on the greens are assumed. The designer doesn't take aim into account at all - the pins aren't even on the green at that stage. I hesitate to ...
