Re: Slow rendering

Thanks Danny, but I had already tried that and to my surprise it didn't make a noticeable difference. I did get a bit of relief when I reinstalled Links, but it still does render more slowly than it did on my old Win 7 machine that used onboard Intel graphics. I also am using XP SP3 compatibility mo...

Re: Slow rendering

Tried it on a couple LS courses (Bountiful and Banff Springs) and it does the same delayed rendering on occasion. Ran System File Checker and it found a few corrupt files and fixed them, but after rebooting it didn't change the rendering delay.

Re: Slow rendering

Thanks John. The reason I needed the Wrapper was because, when I first ran Links on the Win 10 pc, it would not render anything above the horizon (e.g. no sky), and then the nVidia fix solved that issue. Because of what you posted, I tried removing the Wrapper's .dll files from the main Links folder...

Slow rendering

Been playing Links from before XP, and from 2012 on a Win 7 pc using the onboard Intel HD graphics 4000 without video problems. That pc just died and I am now using a Win 10 pc with a GTX 1050ti video card. At first, I could not see anything above the horizon, so I installed the Voodoo nVidia patch ...

Additonal UDP ports for Direct Connect?

I have been playing over 20 years and have always had the standard ports forwarded in my router for Links. It seems portforward.com has come up with a whole series of additional ports they say should be forwarded for our legacy game. When buying certain new routers, when you tell it to forward ports...

Re: Links 2003 w/ Intel-Only Graphics or Intel + Nvidia Graphics - Solution Found

Yay! I've got the sky again. I notice there are now 4 dll's to install. When executing the enclosed application, it had me extract all the files to a new folder Direct3Dfix. Now that I've done the fix, do I need to keep that folder where it's currently at? May I move it? May I delete it? Thanks so m...

Re: Links 2003 w/ Intel-Only Graphics or Intel + Nvidia Graphics - Solution Found

Just bought a used Win 10 pc that uses Intel HD 630 integrated graphics (i5 7600, 24GB RAM) using a driver from 7/2022. I have everything set up and working, except that the area above the horizon is not rendering. Also not seeing the ball flight on the main display and only intermittently on the ov...

Why would a specific course take forever to render?

A friend has a relatively new pc running Win 10 with a good video card which allows him to play any course without problem except Wagga Wagga and maybe one or two others that are like Wagga, not huge in file size. I suggested he delete and then re-download and install the course, but he says that ch...

Can't do direct-connect? Check this.

I think an answer has been found that has recently prevented some folks (especially those with new and/or isp-supplied routers). The issue is that Links is not able to find an IPv6 address. Perhaps someone with the source code can add this feature in a new version or provide us with an add-on that w...

Re: Intel onboard graphics

Please be helpful and let us know what you did to make it work. Are you using the current drivers installed by Win 10? Did you install the nVidia fix and/or anything else? Thanks
