Re: green settings using 'course settings'
Feel free to play around with it. So far there are other drawbacks when it is used, like limited distance from heavy rough, or some other difficulty, and you don't exactly know what your green speed is. Try it with Kapalua Plantation 09 and see if it affects you distances from the rough.

Re: NGLA and Coeur d'Alene
JC - there's a problem with the long grass on Liberty National that I don't think exists on the Presidents Cup version. Players wind up thrashing in the long grass and can't get out and your computer players could very well get stuck in it. The maximum club that works is a fully-delofted sand wedge,...

Re: NGLA and Coeur d'Alene
Oops! I didn't read your post very well now did I! How about Harding Park or Black Rock? Or maybe Liberty National Presidents Cup instead of the older Liberty National, of the killer Atlanta Athletic Club Highlands Course, or Peachtree GC. Make those guys work for their score!

Yes. I believe the sequence is 1 click to start, 1 click at max and 1 click at ball-club contact, where 1 click is 1 left mouse click.

Advertise! Groups of old guys. I can't believe you won't find a Window 7 computer (it's just as good as XP, if not better) that someone will sell you. That's what my backup PC is. Ask guys to ask their friends.

Re: Is EA getting things right? - Links 2k3 Threat Alert !
I've played Real-life golf for 50+ years, Links 2-click for 10 years and Links RTS for about 16 years. I managed to come up with a way to chart RTS putts, chips and pitches, and add draws and fades. I find RTS to be the closest thing to the real game that I've ever found. In all that time, I've trie...
